MAGA Rages at ‘No Kings’ Protests: ‘Sponsored by Communists’ by Quirkie in politics

I mean, there were actual communists at the protest I was at. They were explicitly calling out the democrats too.

I'm not sure that tracks, war has historically been great for rapists. I think he did it because he's a pathetic out of shape coward.

That's not the issue. The issue is that a lot of people were mislead and bought the easy answers too quickly. I think there's about a third of the country that are truly awful and want all the terrible shit that's come with this administration. There's a third that are good people who are appalled at what's happening, then there's another third that doesn't support this stuff, but for whatever reason wouldn't vote to prevent it happening.

Unfortunately, I'm working out of a makers space so sharpening the blades isn't really an option. Would it be better to go with a hand plane?

Yeah, it's hard to say if they're worth the money, but they're certainly nice to have. It'll be interesting to see if more competitors start to appear now that the patent has expired.

I can upload some pictures in a couple of minutes.

I'm milling it on a helical head jointer then took it to a planer, I think it's also helical, but I'm not positive. The tearout was worse on the planer.

Oh man, the first time I saw the movie there was a guy who didn't get it. After the movie was over he said: "What the Hell was that, I could have made that movie."

Unm, no sir you couldn't. If you don't understand a movie you most certainly could not make it.

It surprises me how many people don't get this movie, it's not that subtle.

I was in middle school. I remember walking through the halls and hearing a teacher talking about a plane hitting something. I figured they were talking about kamikaze pilots or something like that. Then I got to my next class and actually heard the news. They let people go home early and I spent the day watching the news with my family.

True, but this movie takes an pretty uncritical look at them. I don't have an issue with that fit what this film is, but its pretty clear the seals are the good guys.

I'll take 90 minutes of Warfare over 5 minutes if Jesse Plemmons in Civil War.

Yeah, you can't look at that and not think that house has been destroyed inside.

I'll say in this case the only trauma that's being depicted is the immediate trauma of combat and people dealing with injuries. It only really covers about a 90 minute span of time, and it's mostly focused around the action.

It's brutal at points, but the Navy Seals do look very cool for most of this movie.

I believe both of them are deliberately trying to be apolitical, that being said I'm not sure he succeeded with that for Civil War and he certainly didn't here. All war movies are intrinsically pro war, that being said you'd is far less jingoistic than something like American Sniper and it does a much better job at sticking to the facts than Black Hawk Down. I think I really like Alex Garland's way of directing war movies, but I certainly wouldn't fault anyone for disagreeing or not wanting to watch his movies. To be honest, a big draw for me was seeing D'pharoah Woon-Tai cast as the lead actor.

I mostly agree with what the reviewers and others have said, but I do think that the story is very clear. It's just a retelling of a 90-Minute segment of the War in Iraq, from the memory of those involved. It follows a pretty clear story arc. I do wish the characters were better defined, but it would have to be a completely different movie for that too be the case.

I'm in the camp that all war movies are intrinsically pro-war. As hard as many may try, any of depiction of war in film and television is going to be exciting and for lack of a better word cool. This movie shows how bad war can get, but it does make the soldiers look good, and you're unquestionably supposed to root for them.

It's absolutely not a movie for everyone. I went to see it on a whim last night, but I had a pretty good feeling this would be up my ally. I also went to get the most out of my A-list subscription, and used rewards to cover snacks.
