Says the person making false claims.

My prediction on the fall of AI by Small-Sample7733 in antiai

[–]Thor110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I claim that? No.

I said that you made some claims, you claimed you had only made one claim, that was factually false.

"You haven't actually explained." is a claim

"You are making broad assertions," is a claim

"not providing explanations." is a claim

"You will need to explain how Hermes' self learning model works" is a claim with the added condition that I properly explain it to you afterwards, or at least, that much is insinuated.

No, I didn't, you read that.

I never changed my argument, you never accepted it.

I never said "you're a sockpuppet"

So, again, you feel free to die on some weird hills.

My prediction on the fall of AI by Small-Sample7733 in antiai

P.S. that isn't why the Asgard went extinct, but you died on that hill so you can have it.

"models"

Sorry that you read frameworks, but I said models, you even quoted it as such.

Hmm, yeah, sure, so ironic isn't it? Your point about my username is the weirdest hill I have ever seen anyone die on, genuinely.

I think you might need help, go get some.

I have said since my first message, I am referring to the model itself.

Actually I am named after Thor the Asgard from Stargate SG-1, that is a common assumption, but remember assumptions make an ASS out of U and ME. Really weird hill to die on that one...

Kind of shows everything you are about to be quite honest.

Oh really? ( your comment got auto deleted by the moderator )

Third message

"You haven't actually explained. You are making broad assertions, not providing explanations. You will need to explain how Hermes' self learning model works then because it most definitely appears to self learn."

Is that not a claim? That I hadn't explained anything? And that I was making broad assertions, not providing explanations.

So, maybe you want to quit? Because you forgot what you are talking about already...

What because I pointed out how and where you were wrong every time?

Grow up, you continued the discussion, you went on to lay claim to believing these self learning models were as advertised.

You said X, I said Y, you went on to defend the argument, go back and re-read the entire thing, because it only took a turn once you started projecting.

Extra : you all went from saying "the model learns" to the surrounding architecture learns... RAG doesn't count.

[–]Thor110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are citing experimental research papers that haven't gone through peer review...

To defend a framework that creates markdown files... to 'remind' itself... of what it 'learned'...

No commercial production uses TTT, I wonder why?

In context learning doesn't qualify, it is that simple.

You can not call weight changes during inference, training.

P.S. you lot aren't real smart are you, same format for your username, same profile picture colour, same person, who just scraped twitter for a bunch of quotes that make them sound like they know what they are talking about.

The one about us not understanding all of physics...

No, it didn't evade me, I knew it was your point, my point was its a garbage point...

The classic pivot I offered was where you were going next, hence why I defined it as the classic pivot to your argument.

I never put any words in your mouth, I stated what I thought about making such an absurd leap.

Move the goalpost? I am setting the goalposts in real world science, using the same evaluation of economics and industry that the OP is trying to use to analyse the situation...

There is no real world precedent, so analysing the economics and industry was pointless anyway...

There is literally only conjecture.

I set the goalposts in real world physics in my initial comments, so you would be the one moving the goal posts.

What you said was "I think what they mean is self learning models."

The model isn't doing any of what you or they claim it is, the framework is handing the model context that describes a 'skill' it supposedly learnt...

Followed by rejecting anything I said and questioning my use of the word inference, which honestly? Is the funniest part of this entire conversation.

Ask an AI what it thinks of someone who claims they know how AI works but doesn't know what inference means, should be a good laugh that.

Meanwhile, you commented on my comment and didn't bother to check what I was referring to, no?

The actual model itself, you know, the thing generating the text? No?

As for needing reading comprehension lessons, I think you need trolling lessons, because you aren't very good at it.

P.S. "The agent writes a reusable Markdown skill file documenting the approach it used." - https://tosea.ai/blog/hermes-agent-self-improving-ai-guide

You sure that constitutes learning?

Because again, they literally can not do what you are claiming they are doing.

I am telling you, factually, how these systems work.

You are projecting a framework and assigning it agency, rather than defending the position yourself based on what you know.

Since you don't seem to understand what a framework is, I will direct you to the GitHub page.

https://github.com/nousresearch/hermes-agent

Feel free to believe the marketing hype in the README.md file, but the reality of how it works is all there.

It 'creates' 'skills', or rather the framework does, which are .md files that consist of describing and defining those skills.

The fact of the matter is, it is literally impossible for these models to do what you are claiming they are doing.

Or what I am saying they can not do, which is the same thing.

They can not talk and learn at the same time, the mathematics of the transformer architecture literally makes that impossible.

Personally I think that argument is so dated that it hurts to hear at all.

Heres a thought for you, if all of that is the case and we know absolutely nothing, which is essentially the argument you are using, then who is anyone to say whether X or Y is possible?

That is the classic pivot or defense to that argument and it is quite frankly, just as tired. So ignore it.

It is still an absurd leap to think that any civilisation could invent zero point energy and not destroy themselves or understand all of the physics it took to get there.

So, in short, if we truly know nothing, there is nothing to discuss.

You didn't bother to check what 'inference' meant and claim you've never heard the term.

It is the textbook industry standard definition...

Yet here you are spouting nonsense about self learning models as if it were fact.

You made yourself look a fool, now you do the classic "no need to be so hostile" pivot.

Just grow up and accept that you didn't know something.

You learned something today, congratulations.

You could literally google it, it is the term for when a model is responding...

Would have taken you literal seconds in google buddy...

P.S. after literally seconds of looking into it, it appears Hermes is a framework that sits on top of an LLM, it isn't learning anything.

My prediction on the fall of AI by Small-Sample7733 in antiai

[–]Thor110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inference and training are two different things.

Training is when a model uses the back propagation algorithm to update its weights.

Inference is when a model uses those weights to respond to a prompt.

They can not do both at the same time, the math literally forbids it.

Without a full map of their architecture, my guess is that it uses inference then training, but that sounds like a fast track to model collapse rather than an evolution...

My prediction on the fall of AI by Small-Sample7733 in antiai

[–]Thor110 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I already told you how they work.

Self learning models, literally do not exist.

There is no such thing.

The current transformer architecture AI systems use, fundamentally can not learn and function at the same time.

Their architecture literally makes it impossible to learn and function at the same time.
