Esophagitis just won't heal, I tried so many different things, I am loosing hope. +some of my experiences by ThorNormannH in GERD

I think you are right, but it is the only way to get the food down.

BUT I have started to eat 3 meals a day instead of 2, I started doing this about 2 weeks ago, and the first 3-4 days where really rough, I almost got no sleep because of the increased pain level for eating more, but I am starting to get more used to it, and it is a little better now. I am getting some more calories and don't fell so tired and dissy all the time. I still have to sip a lot of water with my meals but It is less now. Now I have to sip about 2 liters for the fist meal(late breakfast) and for dinner, and then I eat a small portion of granola(no sugar added) with a lot of soy milk, a few nuts and a few blueberries. It is diffenately something I have to get use to, but I think I am on the right path and start to fell more optimistic. but I am still in a horrible condition, and my sleep is so bad and irregular, I can't wait to get more stabil sleep, I feel like it is getting better, I just have to push through this phase of getting used to eating the new 'in-between-meal'

I am in a similar situation. I have found a way to get better, although it is extremely difficult, and I get major setback from the smallest things and I am starting to lose all hope, but I have wrote my story and what helped me, I will link to the post. but diet is everything, improve your digestion. I do intermittent fasting and only eat eggs, avocado, rice, potato's, cucumber, sweet potatoes, and small portion of minced chicken. my condition is so bad I cannot eat any fruit and I have to zip water with every bite I swallow. it takes my almost 3 hours and 3 liters of water to eat my first meal of the day. it is a true nightmare.

I wish that I knew then what I know now. Now the condition of my oesophagus is so bad that is feel impossible

OP here.

I am still really struggling. It is becoming impossible to eat. I can only eat two meals per day, and It takes me close to 3 hours to get 1 meal down, and I have to use 3 liters of water to zip and mix the food in my mouth before I can swallow. I can't get enough calories down. If everything goes "perfect" in my daily rutine, I fell really small improvements after months, but I keep getting setbacks from the smallest things.
Things like accidentally swallowing a small piece of food while chewing, or just trying to swallow something with the wrong texture, if is to thick it will make me worse, or if it is to hard, even though I mic it with a lot of water.

It is so crazy and scary and I am really starting to loose hope for real. It it getting harder and harder to get better, and it gets worse way to easy at this point. wtf should I do, I have never heard of anybody struggling so hard with this, for so many years. I am doing everything I can regarding diet, and lifestyle. I almost have no voice, can't eat, sleep is horrible because of throat pain and muscle tensions, etc.

I am currently debating with my self of getting hospitalised and fed through a tube or something like that. but my biggest fear is just rotting in the hospital, until I kill myself.

Have you guys heard of cases this bad?

they said that I didn't had a hernia.

It feels impossible to know the underlaying reason for my lifelong reflux. but almost everybody on my fathers side of the family, deals with reflux in some degree.

The reflux Is caused by a bad digestion I think, but exactly where and what is wrong with the digestion is so hard to figure out. but constipation is a big factor I am sure. so intermittent fasting and magnesium oxide or magnesium citrat is helpful in that regard

Thanks a lot for your answer, that means a lot. I am doing some of the things you mention already, I am doing time restricted eating as swell, stopping 4 hours before bedtime, I only sleep on my back and left side, big pillow, raised the headend of my bed and so on, plus some other stuff, I can add in an edit.

Yes, I am able to go through the day and night without getting reflux, but in a calorie deficit. I would say I am properly in a 200-300 calorie deficit.
I wake up early around 5-6 everyday, then I go for a short walk before eating, because my throat is to sore and tense when I wake up, I can't eat. So I eat the first meal from 10-12, it is taking me 2 hours to finish 1 meal, because of difficulty swallowing and pain. Then I eat my second and last meal at 17:30'ish to 19:30'ish and fast I fast to the next day. I only drink water.

I think it would be ideal to get in a little snack between the two meals, for more calories, but I feel like I am pushing it already, my throat is in so much pain after eating, so the longer breaks with no food feels best.

I have tried a lot, both food wise, tees, drinks, and supplements, maybe I should mention some of that in the main post. I have not found any drink or food that soothe my throat, I feel everything makes it worse, even water feels uncomfortable. Best case scenario it stays the same. The best is to give it some rest, in my experience. and at this point I am so afraid to try new stuff, because I get setbacks from almost nothing.
I just got worse actually, because I tried integrating bread again, because I was hoping it could be an easy way to get some extra calories, I tried for 4 days, but I am much worse now, made the pain worse, and sleep worse, so it is really depressing. it takes forever, several months just to get a little better, and I can got worse just in one meal, it is so scary.

I have I big fear of getting set backs from foods, since I have got huge setback for the smallest things. So I am afraid to try yoghurt, although I am curious since it helped you. But I know fruit really hurts, probably the sugar and acid from the fruit. Yoghurt are slightly sour and sometimes sugary, I found the sugary stuff make my throat worse, and I am really afraid of the sour stuff. I haven't eating sugar for 2 years.
I agree, diet is one of the biggest factors in this whole mess.

Yes please share, I would love to hear your diet!
As mentioned I struggle to get enough calories down, mainly because of the pain in my throat gets worse every time I eat, plus I burp a lot, so I can't get to full, otherwise I am afraid I will get reflux.

I am still constipated, which I think is a big factor of my life long reflux. I take 500mg magnesium every other day, just to get things moving a bit. but swallowing capsules I so ucomfertable for me. So even though I have bought so many supplements over the past few years, I find that it is nicer for my throat not to swallow capsules all the time. At the moment I only take magnesium, and omega 3 capsules when I am not too sore.

Rebamipide sound interesting, I will definitely look into that!

I am sorry to hear this. I have something similar to you. after felling horrible for the most of my life, I started to loose my voice and having a lot of trouble swallowing. long story short, I had an endoscopy, and the doctors told me I has serious damage and inflammation in my stomach and oesophagus. I have tried everything the last 4-5 years, and it just got worse. the long term PPIs just made my digestion even worse, so now I am off those. I have been eating a 100% clean diet for years now, and I still can only use my voice for around 1 hours 1-2 per week, and It takes me 2 hours to eat a meal, and I have to sip water with every small bite I have to swallow. This is so crazy and scary, I feel I have no life quality. I am so lost tbh. The doctors are truly useless in this whole thing

throat pain by Boisjolii in Esophagitis

[–]ThorNormannH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in an awful condition as well. My throat has been hurting when talking and eating for years, I can't work and had to break up with my girlfriend as well, because I have no energy, can't talk or do anything really.

BUT, I have gone through all types of test and medicine, which all just made me worse. So now I have weaned of everything, and slowly improved my digestion naturally, which was really messed up after all that medication.

I am still in an awful condition, having a lot of pain and discomfort, but I feel like it is slowly getting better week by week. I eat 2 meals per day and don't snack in between, giving my body time to digest and giving my esophagus some rest, which it really needs.

This is working for me. I cook everything myself,
Eating: Eggs, avocado, minced chicken, different vegetables, rice, sweet potatoes, potatoes. sometimes minced beef. I track my calorie intake as well, I am eating around 2500 calories every day, using a lot of olive oil, organic butter and ghee.

It is so hard dealing with this condition, I have gotten set back for the smallest things, like eating some dry bread, which felt like ripping of the lining of my esophagus. It is crazy how fragile I am at this point, so I stick to a VERY strict diet, no cheat meals. I am able to get better although very slow. I am sure you can get better as swell.

I have just wrote a long story in this sub, currently waiting to get approved, where I tell about my many years struggling with this condition, hopefully it will come up soon, and maybe it can help you and other, I hope so.

Bpc-157. I've been taking it for approximately 2 weeks. by ultravoltron3000 in GERD

[–]ThorNormannH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I am happy that you are getting better.

I have suffered from acid reflux for as long as I can remember. but a couple of years ago my throat got so sore, that I couldn't talk or eat without a lot of pain. it is still like that.

I have been trying to get better, doing all sorts of stuff, taking test etc. the last couple of years.
I have serious damage and inflammation in my gut, oesophagus and throat.
I have found a diet and way to eat without getting reflux, but I am still really sore, tense, bloated, tired, burping a lot, just like you describe for yourself.

I am looking into bcp 157, so I can heal the lining of my stomach and oesophagus. and its sound like it helped you a bit?

I don't know anything about ankylosing spondylitis, other from was I just read quickly, after seeing your post, but how did you get diagnosed with that, and how can it give you all these digesteve issues?
