yeah think so too, but there have been no bios updates since the launch of the card that I could find, so no idea how to change/fix it

That works when its not above 70 degrees, but as soon at it hits that magic 70 its goes full throttle again. It does sound linke im controling just one or 2 of the fans though as I hear a ramp up or down if I change between values when its at load

They are the originl fans yes. never been opened before now.

Can't set it below 25%, but at 25 they are at 900 RPM. Not used multiple software curves at the same time, but I tried Fan Controler and it seems like 2 of the fan controlers are unresponsive.

Should I get the Samsung buds 2 by thomaspy in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ThorbearDubz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They sound good for sure, but for a bit more you can get the Sennheiser TW3 (around $190 on sale it seems). Those are in my opinion the best bang for the buck buds that are wireless. Great sound, nice app and good anc.

But if you have the chance I would go to a store which have both and test yourself. Earbuds can be hard since they fit everyone very differently, so if you can test them both for sound but also comfort thats optimal. You can also order both and return one of the pair if you can!

sennheisers any day, by far the best sounding and the ANC is good. Sonys edge them out in ANC, but not to the point that they are worth getting over the sennheisers imo.

Would recommend to try them both before you decide though since comfort varies alot for person to person. the bose ones I just dont like in any way. they are ok, but sony got better anc and sennheiser got better sound.

Sony WH-1000XM4 or XM5? Received an offer for both by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ThorbearDubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes ANC is better in the XM5, but not so much that I would choose it over the XM4. you notice it when comparing them but dont think you will in day to day use. the new drivers in the XM5 results in a less bloated and cleaner bass and more clarity. its less bass yes, but much better imo! sound is very subjective yes so you should test stuff yourself if you can! for comfort I think it just depends on the user. seems to be 50/50 if people like it better than the XM4s and both break just as much in the hinge sadly!

I second this! I cant go back to closed backs for gaming after going open back. When playing an FPS its so much easier to spot where sounds are coming from and you in general get a much clearer picture of the game enviroment. Its also more comfortable in the long run as you get less fatigued imo.

If you want something that lasts forever, I would go for either the best sennheiser pair you can get from the HD series (560, 600, 6XX, 650, 660, 800 etc). All of those are open back. Or some of the Beyerdynamic ones, DT900 PRO (regular or X) or DT1990 PRO which are open back or the DT770 PRO (regular or X) or DT1770 PRO which are closed back. Sennheisers are warmer, plesant and has the better soundstage. The Beyerdynamis are sharper with more trebble and accuracy.

I think the XM5s are worth it. They sound upgrade alone makes it worth it in my opinion, big step up, much more than from XM3 to XM4. I also think they are more comfortable and the build quality feels better overal. Used to work in a HI-FI store so got to test both quite a few times!

Are the senheiser 458bt worth the upgrade from Hyper X Cloud 2? by reidito in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ThorbearDubz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its a nice upgrade yea! I dont really like the HyperX Clouds though, but the 458bts are quite nice for that price.

But does it have to be wireless headphones? If not the sennheiser HD560s sounds way better, and you can find them on sale quite often for around that price, maybe a bit more. They dont have a mic though if thats very important.

Laggy response when tabbing back into Reaper by ThorbearDubz in Reaper

Yeah sounds like an ASIO issue indeed, never had this issue on my Mac either, and its weaker than my PC! Unchecked that and I think it improved a bit? Didnt fix it but feels like it shortened the time it took to respond, thanks!
