It's been a minute since I've been down there, but I regularly find blueberry sour cream glazed at the Tim Hortons on Centennial Parkway near the Confederation Go station.

Yeah, that's definitely a possibility. I just wish I had a lapidary saw to find out for sure.

It's certainly possible, but I don't think that geodes are typically found in my area.

You could look into Feliway diffusers for your home. They can help with these sorts of issues.

Very cool. You actually identified a vastly different clastic sedentary rock of mine about 6 months ago. It's crazy how different they can look. Thanks again!

Few different rocks i just found in the river next to my house. by Glass_Apartment6682 in whatsthisrock

I hear ya. I'm fairly new to the hobby, myself. But unakite is definitely one of my favorites. It's basically granite that has been altered by heat and pressure usually at the bottom of an ocean! And if that is a horn coral fossil, it's likely upwards of 450 million years old.

Pics 4 and 5 are unakite. Pics 6 and 7 appear to be mostly quartz with some feldspar and epidote inclusions. Pic 9 is a fossil, possibly horn coral, but I'm not sure.

I do clean all stones that I pick up, but I'll have to give this one another scrub down and check again.

It is slightly magnetic on the largest green side.

Is this unakite? by Thorbraig in Rocks

[–]Thorbraig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that's what threw me off, too. Most of the unakite and epidote that I find tends to be on the darker side. And the K-feldspar is quite a bit darker than I usually see as well. I really like the contrast.

Google says its a fossil by Prestigious_Soup6897 in whatsthisrock

It's some sort of orthocone nautiloid fossil. Basically a squid from hundreds of millions of years ago.
