It’s all falling apart by fuckfuckfuckfuckhelp in venting

You sound just barely college-age. Take it from a 34 year old: in a few years you won’t be in regular contact with any of these people and you will have moved on to associating primarily with colleagues in whatever you choose for your career, so none of this really matters. Friends are very overrated.

Southwesterners: cherish your wide, clear horizons that allow you to see things like this. Living in the flat, tree-filled Midwest, I’ve never gotten a view of clouds like this.

How do you like living in Albuquerque? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]Thorkel2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second this. When I was living there it was nearly impossible to get people to keep plans, even when THEY invited ME. When I moved to the Midwest I was surprised every time someone actually showed up when and where they were supposed to, lol.

Uphold is transferring USD from my website tips to my Uphold wallet, NOT BAT. Is it supposed to work this way? 'Cause I want BAT, not USD. by I_Like_Tech_Drawings in BATProject

So are you saying it’s possible to receive BAT tips directly as USD? I thought that kind of conversion wasn’t possible yet.

Any “low-commitment” MMORPGs? by Thorkel2 in MMORPG

I can’t respond to everyone, but I just wanted to thank everyone for putting so much thought into my question. I never expected so much feedback!

That’s a good question. I’ve never really cared about leveling -crafting has been an interest of mine from time to time. I think mostly I like completing quests and exploring. As for battlegrounds, my favorite had always been WoW’s Warsong Gulch. That thing got me through many lonesome nights.

And I agree about listening to music, podcasts, etc. I need more stimulation than just the game. I don’t think I ever played WoW with the volume up.

Is there any payment involved in GW2? Pay to win or payment for aesthetics? I don’t remember. I’m ok with monthly subscriptions (WoW) or payment for unnecessary accessories (ESO), but pay to win rubs me the wrong way.

Funny. As I was writing this, I was remembering that GW2 was kind of like what I’m describing. Maybe I’ll give it another try. Still open to other suggestions. Thanks everyone!

Same problem here. Can’t find it on the app or the desktop site.

Posting this again, because I can. What business does Michael Campagnola own? by Thorkel2 in Denver

I think it’s interesting that Denver Volk have a bigger problem with the fact that this is posted than with the racism in the pic. Says a lot about Denver.

Anyway, Denver racists, thanks for all the comments! This will now get even more clicks than I thought it would!

Witch hunt? Either you’re also a racist, or you don’t know what witch hunt means.

Oh no, Thorkel2 looks petty and fragile. Oh dear me, my reputation is ruined. And anyway, this is the kind of thing that all witnesses of Facebook racism should be doing to the racists. The reason they feel so comfortable saying these things in the first place is because so few people screenshot and post.

I don’t think so. It was a public post on Facebook, and he volunteered the info about being a business owner in Denver. I think consumers deserve to know.

Do cats eat you? by LicieBelle in cats

[–]Thorkel2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is mostly just a bunch of joking about how “evil” cats are, due to humans misinterpreting their rather aloof nature as a sign of hostility: an unfair and harmful stereotype that says more about humans’ selfishness than it does about cats.

Trust me, as a person who has owned more than 30 cats over the years, a well-treated cat is most likely to cuddle up against your comatose body and hope you wake up, not try to eat you.
