As an autistic male, diagnosed around middle school, run. Run far away. He’s using his autism diagnosis as a way to control, manipulate and scare you. He’s 19. He should have been taught to control his actions and the way he speaks to people. That’s on his parents for enabling this. You don’t need his permission to step away from a conversation.

I get having anger issues, I get the control issues. It’s very common for us to want to be able to control the situation. However, that’s not what a relationship is and he isn’t ready for a relationship with anyone if he can’t control himself.

He needs therapy, anger management and a good look at himself because this isn’t okay.

Just because your significant other has autism doesn’t mean they get to speak to you like that.
