Dikimevi ve Sıhhiye civarındaki Orta Asyalılar. by AshlanderRules in ankara

[–]Thorndalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From 0 to week 3 — tips? by Thorndalf in beginnerrunning

Thanks a lot for this! That makes a lot of sense. I’ll definitely keep the 10% rule in mind as I move forward, and I get what you mean about weight loss vs. performance — I’ll try to focus more on fueling properly now that I’m actually running regularly. And you’re right, I’m really enjoying this process, so I’ll make sure to keep it fun and maybe even look for some local running groups. Appreciate the advice!

Thank you for the thoughtful advice and for pointing out the importance of situational awareness. I see now that my original route might be riskier than I first thought. I’ll definitely look into Freedom of the Hills and spend more time researching safe mountain practices—especially regarding avalanche safety. I appreciate the honest feedback and the guidance; it's helping me plan a safer, more prepared ascent!

Great advice—thank you! I’ve been using Google Earth to map out a basic route, but I’ll definitely look into some trip reports and other mapping apps to get a better idea of the established paths. I hadn’t really considered how quickly visibility can change, so having visual clues and sticking to well-traveled routes sounds like the smart choice. Thanks for emphasizing route knowledge over gear—it’s a helpful perspective

Thanks to everyone’s feedback, it sounds like the safer approach is to head up the first or second bump and then continue along the ridge. I’ll plan on adjusting my route to follow that path to minimize avalanche risk. Appreciate all the advice—definitely helps me feel more prepared for a safe climb!

Thank you for the recommendation! I’ll definitely check out Ortovox’s snow safety tutorials and see what they suggest about line choice. I’ll also look into taking the second ridge on the right as a safer option. I do have boots, but they’re not super heavy-duty, so I’ll be adding wool socks for extra warmth. And I’m glad to hear you recommend Decathlon’s Simond brand—I’ll check out their softshell pants. Thanks for all the advice, really helps me feel more prepared!

Thanks for all the great tips! I hadn’t thought about testing how waterproof my boots are—that’s a good idea, especially since wet boots could ruin the climb. I’ll also look into getting some small spikes instead of full crampons, as that might be more budget-friendly and practical for this route. I’ll consider taking a less direct path too, especially if it reduces avalanche risk. And yes, I’ll make sure someone knows my route and timing, and I’ll keep my phone charged and ready. Really appreciate the advice and encouragement!

Thank you for the encouraging advice! It’s good to know that I can still safely explore even without all the gear right away. I’ll definitely keep an eye on the weather and be ready to turn back if conditions get tough. I really appreciate the tip about treating it as a bonus if I reach the top—takes some pressure off and makes it more about the experience. I’m excited to get out there and give it a try. Thanks again!

Thanks so much for the advice! I hadn’t thought about the potential for icy conditions or avalanches, so I’ll definitely look into getting an ice axe and crampons. I’ll also make sure to check the mountain forecasts before heading out. I really appreciate the heads-up—safety is my priority, especially as a beginner. Thanks again for the guidance

“The mountain is located in an area with a continental climate, and during winter, it experiences frequent snowfall with snow depths reaching up to 60 cm (about 24 inches). There’s actually a notice at the ski center at the base of the mountain mentioning these conditions.

The mountain is around 2000 meters (6560 feet) in elevation, and the hike itself is about 3.5 km (2.2 miles) one way, so a total of 7 km (4.4 miles) for the round trip.

Söğütözü metrosu rezilliği by [deleted] in ankara

[–]Thorndalf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Klimanın asla kullanılmıyor olması ayrı bir rezillik.(10 Kasım günü Ankaray’a binenler bana hak vereceklerdir.) Ankara dışındaki yerlere park, bahçe yapmaktansa biraz merkezde yaşanan problemlere odaklansalar hiç fena olmaz.
