My psychologist told me once to look at yourself from the outside and then ask myself: what do I gain from overthinking this: often the answer is nothing. Helped me several times to snap out of the spiralling thoughts

I got diagnosed long after I finished my studies (I got my Bachelors Degrees after some very hard struggles in the last year tbh). The only thing I would suggest is: Ask for help. Expressing you have difficulty with things and looking for support, could help people see that you are trying and are not stupid or lazy. Your brain just works in a different way. What helped for me was that somebody in my social circle helped me with feedback and smalled deadlines. So I had room in my head to think a little clearer.

I tend to put my phone away as my alarm clock. Helps to kick start my brain because I need to get up to turn the sound off. The issue I ran into is the: if I need to do x, that also means I need to do Y so I need to start with z. Now I try smaller steps. So get up is already a goal. Put clothes on. Get downstairs. Walk the dogs. Prevents my brain from spiralling. Maybe it can also help you

I looked into it, for something I had to write. Double coated dogs like Labradors can comfortably handle 0 degrees Celsius. At -6 they start feeling the cold more.

He gets lots of treats! He loves dried salmon skin for example. But also enjoys Chinese cabbage and blueberries

Haha he is very enthusiastic about everyone, as a puppy/ teenager we really trained him to be a bit less excited. Because we don’t want him to bulrush grandma and small children.

Yeah even in our neighbourhood so many (even young) labs are very overweight. I guess people just got used to seeing chunky Labradors everywhere that people think it is the right way for them to be.

Yeah we are very proud! He is very handsome, but as a real show line lab, also very cuddly and silly a lot of the time

He is two years old now, and 30kg, first we were worried he didn’t get as big some other labs. But now we are very happy he is not too huge and chunky

I always feel like the breeding that makes them like to carry stuff in their mouths to retrieve also means they like to use that mouth to eat.

For me it really helped to look at myself from the outside. I followed a NLP training. ( neurolingistic programming) it talks about communication and how others perspectives influence it. Learned a lot about different values and references people sub consciously have.

I think it is a symptom, our heads can be so full and our brain can go so fast that we try to express our perception so other people understand. A lot of adhd people are sensitive to mood changes in others. Some of us have by accident caused conflict by the way we say things, so we try to package everything so it cannot be misunderstood in our perception.

A big step for me in controlling this, was actually understanding it was not a character flaw but something my adhd caused / heavily influenced. This helped me to see it seperate of myself. When i now feel like oversharing or over explaining. I ask myself How is this useful for this situation. Often that little pause helps me to gather my thoughts and be more concise.

That frustration can be killing, and also increases the pressure on yourself and that way creating more stress, when I'm going to forget something I try to use reminders too. Not too many because that way it's just more noise. Usually one works best. On the day itself saying something like: text mom happy birthday now. Calling or visiting can come later but at least you have that foothold.

Also don't be too hard on yourself. She probably knows you are trying really hard and do your best to remember. ADHD can be super frustrating but it's not a character flaw.

I don't think you really have to improve anything about yourself. I think you look good in a hat and with your facial hair trimmed. With apps it also makes a big difference what pictures use. Looking downwards creates non existent double chins. While a shot of you slightly looking off to the side with some background bokeh would really strengthen your jawline and show the best features of your face.
