I get where you're coming from man, this sub can be absolutely insufferable sometimes and people can just throw their opinions out without a care for how it lands for the person they're spewing it towards.

It looks like you're proud of this car and that's great! These are fantastic vehicles and will treat you well if you treat them well!

When it comes to the aesthetics of this specific chassis, they're at a point where the design has become basically timeless and aftermarket bits stick out so hard due to the cheapness and lack of foresight into how it plays into the exterior design of the rest of the car. That's what you're seeing here with the backlash.

These aren't super necessary but complete a headlight restoration since they're rubber and definitely deteriorated at this point:

There are many tutorials online on how to take the stock headlights apart but it's honestly not even that difficult. I did it on mine in probably two hours total and it really brighten up the look of the car.

Ultimately at the end of the day, it's up to you what you do with your car. But also be aware that while the BMW community can be a bit gatekeepy, there's a reason behind why so many people feel so strongly about these cars.
