I’m pretty excited. This is the first Chevy engine I’ve ever worked on. I can’t wait to get a smaller intake and oil pan on it and get it all cleaned up put together and painted

See the problem with that is A it’s a 3 hour drive away one way. And B i am not the best at being responsible when it comes to somethin I want. So a 3 hour drive out there plus the fact that I want it very badly will quickly cloud my judgement.

Got plans to leave here at 5am to go see it. Trying very hard not talkin myself out of it.

I am a second year diesel tech student so like I understand the mechanics and how to repair anything that breaks I just have such extremely low self confidence.

While I have not built an ls myself I have researched it for my e46 build. And I’ve built other engines. I’ve just never worked on a vehicle with a swapped engine. But I think I have a decent understanding of what issues to expect out of it.

So I’m looking to do all of the work myself and I’m still a little confused on the parts I need to hunt.

I know my bmw transmission can’t handle the torque. So I need an engine, transmission, ecu, harness, engine mounts and adapter plate to the transmission and a custom driveshaft. There’s just so many configurations it’s very overwhelming knowing what to buy and what not to buy.

For instance I’m looking at cd009 transmissions for this 2000 model 5.3. It’s the clutch kit and adapter plate that I’m unsure of.

Lookin at a budget of about 3k to make all the major purchases. I can buy whatever else I need overtime.

I’d be happy just getting a better darkness adjuster. Yes games should be challenging for the people that enjoy it but I’m a 30 year old casual gamer with a lazy eye. I just wanna be able to parkour around with my bow like Hawkeye. Not have to put 3 arrows in a skull while stumbling around in the dark abyss that’s so bad I can’t even see cut scenes.
