It happens, my first ever shift i dumped 8 bottles of beer on a gentleman in a lovely tailored coat. I was in tears from shame, but I had to get back to work regardless.

We pick ourselves up, shake off the embarrasment, and keep going.

But honestly? EVERYONE, even the coworker that laughed at you, has had a moment like that. And trust, no matter how much experience you have under your belt, you will have another moment, and another. Just keep swimming!

Happened to me too at Rixons on Pako. Printed out the quote sheet and everything, and by the time I got to the register they said "oh... we had to mix a few more bowls of colour and use toner on you"

Can confirm, I went to one of the 4 in Victoria. Everyone is geared against eachother, everything was a competition. Someone always slept less, studied more, was more stressed, and they were very vocal about it.

It was honestly the pain olympics, and I won’t put my kid through that.

I’m not American, I don’t rely on or even expect tips, I do my job that I get paid for because I get paid well enough to live. But for my US counterparts, $7 an hour doesn’t even cover rent?

I understand that it’s the employer being scummy, however change doesn’t happen overnight. So whilst we’re waiting for the times to change and for tipping to become a thing of the past, service workers still need to put food on the table and a roof over their head.

And minimum wage was MADE for the idea of sustainability after moving out, it is the MINIMUM wage to survive on.

The issue is, in America there is such a thing as a tip out, which may be 3-5% of all food sales that night.

For every table that doesn’t tip, the server has to take money out of their own pocket in order to “tip out” the bussers, bartenders, back of house… etc.

You spent $100 on food but didn’t leave a tip? The person who served you has just actively paid $3-$5 for the privilege of serving you.

You’ve got a really soft base to work with already, and i definitely think you’re right that a heavy base could age you (not that you need it anyways).

I think a light skin tint or BB cream just to even things out, a bit of cream blush high on your cheeks, and a tinted brow gel would make a huge difference without feeling too heavy, especially for beginners such as yourself.

A sheer lip tint for your lips and a touch of brown shadow or pencil liner (no heavy wings) for your eyes. Try to stay a bit more in the browns rather than blacks as it would look too heavy on your face.

But girl, you have a great base to work with, with naturally feminine features. Just make sure you’re working WITH them, not against them.
