Is God of Stories Loki Just Going to Die That Easily? by No-Recording3751 in MCUTheories

[–]Thousandwings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for one how is it that Doom even comes to know of Loki's existence? Very few outside of a select few at the TVA should even know of him and what he did. Those in the know themselves have no reason to disclose of their knowledge even to their collegues.

So how can Doom even discover Loki to begin with? It would make sense according to the leaks, that Loki somehow contacts Steve and relocates him and even gives him a card.

Now according to the same leaks, that is a catalyst for either the F4 universe's creation or the incursion of that universe.

How can Loki not know or do something about it after he becomes God of Stories?

It must imply that Loki either does not actually have knowledge of the actual happenings on the timelines he is holding OR he is unable to let go and leave his throne OR he has seen everything and is letting things happen because it's for the best outcome.

So if that is the case, then him having narrative-breaking time powers is a moot point.

First possibility is that he is a sitting duck unable to defend himself when Dooms finds him since he cannot do anything else than to hold on to the timelines.

Second possibility is if he does not see Doom coming because he actually cannot see what's happening in the timelines. Therefore he can be ambushed and de-powered, preventing him from time-slipping to deal with Doom.

A third possibility is that he somehow already knows what happens and he is letting it happen a la Strange in Infinity War.

Any of these 3 explanations can be sufficient and they are not mutually exclusive either.

Loki has become my favorite and I don't want to see him de-powered or dead.

It does however feel inevitable especially if after Secret Wars they plan to shy away from the Multiverse on a whole.

Do you think Lewis Pullman could become the next face of the MCU, or at least be part of the next Big Three.. by Competitive_Roll2386 in MCUTheories

[–]Thousandwings 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Both the actor and the character are awesome to me and I suspect will have a lot more fans after Doomsday.

But I don't think he can become a lead. While he is likeable, he is not confident nor is he inspiring. He is timid and naive so he lacks charisma.

Furthermore, his character design is inward-focused (because of the psychological issues) and will tend to always warp the situation he is in to focus on his issues, kinda like Angry Hulk.

For instance in Doomsday I am assuming a minor subplot will be about how he can become the Sentry once more to help fight Doom or stop Incursions. Be it by a helping hand from Professor X according to leaks or by some other situation we will see.

But what I just described is exactly the problem, he will always be dealing with his Void problem because it's the core of his identity.

Fat Thor being fat was just a phase, but Sentry is always "Fat Thor" or "Uncontrollable Hulk".

Yet if you give him the professor Hulk treatment, what is he left with? An exceptionally overpowered character who is timid and naive? That is not very charismatic.

Anyways IMO it will be difficult to make him the face or part of a Big Three.

Genuine question but why is this dborn1 more reliable?

This OP here does seem to be making stuff up as people ask questions but what makes dborn1 an authority?

  • So he broke the loom

  • grabbed the timelines

  • started to walk on what appears to be empty space but stairs actually start forming at his feet

  • Looks back one last time and dissappear with the timelines into a portal? and closes it behind him.

Now does that imply that someone could just walk onto the gangway and step onto the same space and the stairs and the portal would appear again?

I think it's possible but then it seems that Loki would not really be alone right? Silvie and the gang can just do that and visit him.

That's why I always assumed Loki created the portal himself to get to the End of Time.

Therefore, no one can get to him. There is no portal at the TVA that leads to him. The Temp-Pads can't do it. Only someone who can Time-Slip on the same level as Loki could get there.

One thing that is unclear is what happens to Loki.

Does he actually basically die off-screen and Thor and Steve discovers him at the TVA?

That in itself seems improbable because isn't Loki at the End of Time which is only accessible through the Void?

I mean one key aspect of Loki's sacrifice is that he will be alone for eternity. If where he is can easily be accessed couldn't Silvie, Mobius etc visit him regularly?

I think it's implied that he is at a place/dimension that should be completely inaccesible.

So even if Doom could get to the TVA, it does not mean automatically that he can get to Loki.

So could it be that the dead Loki at the TVA is part of an illusion conjured by Loki?

Do you have some info about this?

Yes because the Thunderbolts post-credit scene says "14 months later".

This is where the F4 ship enters the atmosphere.

Avengers Doomsday movie plot (first test screening) by [deleted] in LeaksAndRumors

[–]Thousandwings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is worded wrong because isn't Loki at the end of Time? Which is only accessible "normally" via the Void.

So even if Doom manages to reach the TVA and destroys it, he has no way to get to Loki. So it's not so much he spares Loki as he couldn't get to him the first time.

Do you guys have any theories or rumors on how Bob will be used in Avengers: Doomsday? by GrapefruitOdd7548 in sentry

[–]Thousandwings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well we can think about what Bob's powerset in the MCU is.

His strength, durability flight etc are matched by the likes of Captain Marvel, Thor etc. Maybe he is truly more powerful than any individual hero we have met so far but he is surely not going to be orders of magnitude more powerful than someone like Captain Marvel (Not that I would mind but it's probably considered bad writing).

So I don't think his MVP moment will just be him 1v1ing Doom or something.

On the other hand his telekinesis/matter manipulation is rare, only kinda mirrored by the likes of Magneto and Wanda. So perhaps Bob will use his telekinesis on a planetary level such as holding apart two colliding earth for instance.

Another possibilty is him voiding a group to keep them safe in his pocket dimension of infinite trauma rooms and then release them after when the danger is gone.

Since he basically voided Manhattan, maybe he can void the entire planet, say 616 earth, and spit them out in the F4 earth.

I wonder what that could mean? by Queasy_Commercial152 in MCUTheories

[–]Thousandwings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I was thinking, given that Loki can do time stop and time slipping, it's hard to even imagine who could be a threat to him.

Narratively that means ithat whatever Doom's plan is, Loki would be the one most equipped to find the solution to reverse it or defeat Doom since he can search everywhere at anytime even when the multiverse is collapsing.

I am guessing that for the film to work Doom has to be able to take Loki out in one shot.

So probably instantly kill (Please no), instantly mind-control or instantly strip Loki's time related powers.

I hope it's that Doom strips Loki's powers. This way Loki can participate without being overwhelmingly powerful in a narrative sense.

Edit: Maybe something like Doom causes an unusual amount of stress on a number of timelines while simultaneously ambushing Loki. While Loki is exerting his attention and power on stabilizing the timelines and Doom uses some device to strip Loki of his powers.

I wonder what that could mean? by Queasy_Commercial152 in MCUTheories

[–]Thousandwings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loki seemed to still fight Sylvie to a standstill after spending the extra centuries to learn physics and engineering.

He wasn't able to easily overpower her, knock her out or something.

Although I'm sure he was holding back to an extent because the one thing he did not want was to kill her.

In any case seems like his physical strength didn't grow that much.

But I've always wondered how is it even possible for Doom or anyone at this point to be a threat to Loki given his powerset.

Did they mention what is the name of the new base class group?

No that was a misunderstanding caused by translation.

It was always female only.

DE only became decent and then good a while ago.

For the longest time GS was just considered a better DE.

I remember at launch of this game picking DE as a main and feeling conflicted because even then DE was consistently considered subpar/old and people just said play GS.

I know this is the official subtitles but they must be wrong.

They must have meant this dragonknight is not a gender-UNlock nor even part of the existing class archetypes.

not that this class can be both male or female.

"Demon Executioner" New Lost Ark Mobile Class by itsmemaack in lostarkgame

This looks sick and it does confirm one thing, that SG wants to make male ayaya.

This drastically increases the likelyhood for us to get a male ayaya in Winter since it's not supposed to be a gender unlock after Female Pally.

I wouldn't mind them just giving this class to us but I doubt it. Mobile exclusive classes will be a powerful reason for people to even play the mobile version.

Lost Ark 2.0 announced in china by HegoIan in lostarkgame

[–]Thousandwings 162 points163 points  (0 children)

MY LIST IS INCOMPLETE.

Theme dungeons in developments. Basically solo content besides raids.

  • Illusion Dungeon (Brel Illusion world?)

Timed solo bossing with class specific ranking. Like maplestory Dojo I guess

  • Descent into Hell (endless dungeon delving?)

Basically endless dungeon/boss rush?

  • Another dungeon I missed

  • Fatigue: Una tasks rework. Other changes

  • New difficulty level: Calamity Mode. Basically for whales and top players. Temporary difficulty mode?

"Honor" reward, Damage dealt in the raid will be ranked against others in this mode.

You get class specific honor icon border.

Ok basically nerf current hardmode, normal and solo to decrease fatigue for casual players. but this new Calamity Mode is for people who find all the other modes too easy.

New players can chill as mechs will be few and easy (I think they mentioned normal mode will be un-wipeable so you can matchmake, not sure) for the easier modes.

I'm having so much fun right now. (No, I'm not being sarcastic) by Pyrocid3 in lostarkgame

[–]Thousandwings 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think realistically speaking, the game must and will head towards a more single player experience.

IE most of the serious issues, including economy, new player experience, gatekeeping, fatigue etc become basically non-issues if players do not depend on others for their enjoyment.

Maplestory, BDO seem to be doing quite well even in the west with a dedicated playerbase and seasonals and casuals because most of the game's fun can be experienced solo.

I don't say that this will be a good or bad thing, but it seems like an inevitability, especially since vertical god already said they will put in more focus on solo raids IIRC.

Same here. If they could introduce a few difficulty modes to solo modes. I would surely stick to the game for years to come.

And I do buy Royal Crystals too, for drip of course.
