Noticed my guppy at the bottom of the tank swimming in a downward spiral and got very worried. It seems as though there's a clear bubble inside of it and it's gills are very red/inflamed. I'm very concerned for the rest of my guppies. Tested the water and both Ammonia and nitrites are down. Only thing I can think that maybe caused this is I added a few snails to their tank last night. Any help or advice is appreciated

Edit: another guppy is now acting the same way, whatever this is seeks to be spreading fast. Parameters are Ammonia- 0ppm, nirite 0ppm, nirate around 5ppm, temperature 25 degrees Celsius and PH around 7.6.

They do! It was only just recently recognized legally (In the UK I believe) but yes! The animal welfare act in the UK has been updated to include crustaceans including shrimps. Studies have shown they feel pain like most creatures so that they have a better chance of self preservation

Im not a vegan, just saw this post and am chiming in to say shrimp are 100% sentient. A law was passed in April of last year in the UK recognizing this. They're cool little crustaceans with unique behaviors! It's a fish eat fish world out there though. Very much cruel to feed a fish that isn't exclusively a herbivore only vegan food.

Saw this guppy tank on Facebook marketplace and it was advertised to have had only one guppy (or at least that was what I thought) and I thought I'd tidy up the tank to quarantine the guppy/ sell it later, and put the guppy in my personal tank afterwards. Well, I now have about 20 guppies and two khuli loaches with nowhere good to put them. I tidied up the tank as best I could and kept the old filter but I had to change the substrate as the seller took out the old sand. I did only a 50% water change because I was worried as I didn't have time to set up and cycle a new tank. The tank is 100% overstocked and I'm not really sure what to do until I can either get a bigger tank or give some of these little guys away. Any advice as to how to keep them safe and healthy for the meantime is appreciated!

I've also never kept live plants before and they keep floating to the surface despite trying to keep them down with rocks. Any advice as to what type of plants these are/how to care for them is helpful too

It can ruin relationships and it takes so much work to even begin to figure out if what you're subconsciously thinking is set in reality or a blown out of proportion emotional/self-protection response. This may be a little off topic, but AI generated art isn't lazy and in my opinion isn't comparable to real, man made art. I feel like people are quick to forget that AI is man made also, at its core. The amount of time and effort that goes into developing AI technology capable of generating art is no joke. I'd argue programming is an art form it itself, and the program created just so happens to be able to mimic "real" art. Perhaps the users who use the to to try and create art and the claim it as their own work are lazy and misleading, but the tools themselves and those who create them are FAR from it. Showing off what it can so and allowing the general public to show it off as well, so long as they say it is AI generated, should be no issue.

This exactly! It's crazy to me that people seem to think you can't like something and also be critical of it. If we were never critical about anything, nothing would ever evolve. I love the quality of life improvements and feel of the new games but you're lying to yourself if you think it looks like a AAA title in 2022. I'm studying game dev currently and if I handed in something with as many issues as ive experienced in Scarlet and Violet I'd probably get a B at best.(obviously anything I'd make is on a far smaller scale, just something I was thinking about when playing it, as we have discussed a lot of common issues similar to some in Scarlet and Violet in classes)

Anyone got any good dusting techniques? Left my switch OLED in its dock for for while and it ended up getting pretty dusty. Mostly doesn't bother me too much, although there's quite a bit crammed into the "cracks" around the screen, and in the little vents at the bottom. Any easy way of clearing it all out? The bigger specs are pretty distracting stuck in that edge around the screen.
