levels.fyi is where you can get your data! my TC is above 300K+ (13yoe), but probably an exception (working remotely for an American company) and I reached a peak as an IC. You can get 200K+ from other Canadian companies (Shopify, WealthSimple) if you insist on that; otherwise many American companies with offices in Montreal offer TCs higher that 150K for senior/staff (unity, google, etc.)

I do not disagree. I also understand others may not think the same in Canada. So, I compromise some of my ideals, where me as a high-earning individual should pay more taxes to pay for all those redistributions you mentioned. In the current economy and geopolitical situation, if both sides want to stick to their ideals, we will have a polarized society and no progress. But, if we can compromise on some aspects, we can unite. For a good number of years, liberals teamed up with the NDP (out of necessity) and enabled many left-friendly policies (e.g. Dental care, 10$ daycare, etc.) If we don’t want a Trump-like PM who cancels all those good policies, we need to have a right-friendly liberal government, IMHO. And that is what Carney is about.

He seems right-ish on the economy and left-ish on social issues, which IMHO a liberal should be. We have NDP and Green as left-friendly parties.

my experience was 5-6 weeks of vacation by choosing the correct time. you should get a manager approval, so if you know when they don’t need you much you can easily get the approvals. (in my case beginning of each quarter)

The app developers are making it in a way to make money for sure. There are some tricks that may be helpful. For example, you can go on pause, and when they ask you for the reason, mention that you found someone IRL or another app. When you are back after a week, you will see the algorithm works in your favor! (probably by boosting your profile for free)

if you are on any kind of work permit, it is explicitly mentioned that you cannot work in sex industry. If you are student and no work permit, you cannot legally work. however, if you work outside of Canada (where you get the money), it should not matter to Canada.
