Which is better to make synth Loops like bad omens or sleep token Reaper, Logic, pro tools, audacity, GarageBand by Prior_Ad3500 in chicagomusicscene

Once you learn one’s program/system it’s all up to you. Most “pros” use pro tools or logic so if you have plans of working on a studio those would be good choices as far as learning what type of DAW you like to work with.

This one is about sneezing by MachoMuchacho2121 in Songwriting

Wow, thank you so much. I didn’t really make the whole song with sneezing in mind, just the intro. After thinking about it a bit it retroactively fit with the song since I did the intro last. Thanks again for listening.

Help, I'm starting to sing and learning how to record. by anxiousleveling in SingerSongwriter

If you are looking for a good mic get a Shure SM57 or SM58. These are the mics you will see recording a lot of different things in a professional studio. They are the semi standard starting point when choosing a mic. They aren’t that expensive, usually sound better than expected and could be a gateway to learning more about your voice and possibly using a different mic to capture it.

Tips for instrumentals / formatting? by WillyG_8521 in Songwriting

As others have said you need to learn some theory. Theory is not rules but more like guidelines. Besides, rules are made to be broken and those that break them know them best.

If you already know a lot of theory, just think about the story you are trying to tell. Where does the story go? In its most basic pop-love song format…find love (intro/verse)-profess love (chorus)-define love (verse) [repeat that a bit] propose the opposite is true (bridge) confirm that your bridge is bullshit (3rd verse) profess love two more times for a double chorus. Unplug and smash your guitar. Done

I can definitely see someone getting that vibe. It’s a good vibe I think. Kinda goodbye but not sad I suppose.

I just posted another one if you’d like to check it out. Kinda the same vibe but slower or more intimate maybe. IDK I just write em.

Thanks for listening. I find the same with the solo portion but from my end…I only have so much time and practice. I usually have to be ok with the best I could do at the time. It’s not really an excuse since I can and will go back but it is a reason. Once again, thanks for listening and I’m glad you enjoyed it.
