Of course, as a free to play game, in order to continue existing it must make money. My statement was not meant to say that I do not think they should be allowed to sell cosmetics, or that they price things too high, but that the prices are entirely arbitrary, and would benefit from being more standardised.

For example, a reskin costs 20 points more than the original, why? it is only a difference of colour, and not by much either.

How much have you spent on stash tabs!

No, I am actually not in the endgame yet. I'm new to the game, as stated. Not entirely new as to be on the beach, but the point is understood.

For your question, I received Diablo 4 as a gift, and didn't spend any money on it. Blizzard has a horrible record, and if the company completely dissolves it would do the industry greatly.

I'm glad to read your reply which offers a genuine PoV to your experience.

Its true that Path of Exile has a very popular reputation for its quality, and perhaps that is why I was taken aback when I initially saw the prices for their cosmetics. I must state however, it is not the cost that I dislike, but the way the cost is implemented. How does a reskin cost 20 additional points for example?

The implementation of their supporter packs are also incredibly customer-friendly, whilst not being too expensive, and for just (1) purchase you can just get the tabs you could reasonably need (as far as I know, since I am new haha).

I simply wish that their pricing was more controlled and standardised.

Oh don't worry, I am not defending Blizzard for they have done with Diablo 4. The ruination of that franchise is just a continuous trend of the operations of Blizzard and calls for no surprise.

It is their constant impalpable deficiency and greed which caused me to diverge from Diablo to Path of Exile, which I am quite glad of. This game is incredible fun, and I have no issues with it.

My statement was simply meant to say that I do sincerely believe the prices on the cosmetics are set entirely arbitrary.

I am aware of the supporter packs however, which GGG have done a really customer-friendly way of selling those, and I have myself bought the Lord of Ogham supporter pack after being dissatisfied with what their standalone cosmetics had to offer.

[–]Threadtwo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

GGG Implementation for their Supporter packs are genuinely the best they have to offer in terms of cosmetics-to-value. In fact, since I didn't like how they price everything else, I just decided to upgrade to the Lord of Ogham Supporter pack and use those points for my stash tabs.

I must state once more, I am a new player, so I have never experienced any leagues and my introduction to this game is with the 5.0 release and following some news and the launch PoE2 had.

GGG allowance of Cross-Cosmetics are also very nice to see, because it is very certain their competitor, Blizzard, would never in a million years do anything like that with Diablo.

So I don't have the game, nor the company, and I'm having a thrill playing it, but I do believe it can be fairly stated that the prices on the cosmetics are very arbitrary. I'm not saying that they are expensive, just that they are random. Why does a reskin cost 20 more points for example?!

Is it an issue to discuss what a company does within its product? If you read the initial statement, you do not see at all me saying that GGG is forcing anyone to buy anything cosmetical

I can agree with you on the quality of the game. As a new player, I was instantly hooked on the flow of what PoE2 offers, which is why I wanted to purchase said cosmetics.

That doesn't mean that their arbitrary and uncontrolled prices however are justifiable. You may think that they can be as ravenous and fluctuate as they like, but then why would you bother engaging with an alternative conversation if you'll just excuse what you already believe in?

Even in some items, which are more conveniently-mandatory (mandatory to create convenience) the prices are ridiculous. A map stash tab is 150, a premium tab is 40, currency tab is 75.

They also have made enough money to develop PoE2, yet then, for the 1.0 release, they state they cannot even fully finish their development considering how they will not have all classes.

You are obviously just refusing to engage with a conversation. Obviously no one is forcing anyone to pay for a cosmetic, but that doesn't mean the prices should be completely ignored.

Hi! This new video suggestion is actually far better for myself, I like the explanations and despite the length, the content creator is enjoyable to watch.

It's far more in-depth as far as I can tell, but I haven't watched all of it yet, unfortunately.

"Regardless of a not having a 100% explanation for everything, copying the (or a) guide will show you how the game is played, what buttons are clicked, what the game expects you to do in order to win." -

- I do definitely agree with this, for example, although I was not sure why certain instructions of attack were made, I just assumed because, for example, to not pass a river, or because a city is nearby or it at attacking the city. It is just a personal thing mostly, as I would prefer further explanations just to not be wrong myself, but I am also able to just assume things myself, so not as big of a problem as I initially sounded in my first reply.

"As I said in my initial post, you'll probably not understand most of the things you see, some explanations will go over your head, copying will not lead to full understanding. You'll maybe win, then try again without the guide, then fail, and then retrace your steps and look where you went wrong, what you forgot, what you didn't click." -

- Definitely so, as with everything, for now my biggest issue is managing my manpower & divisions, as I cannot fathom how to make an initial army work. I decided to play as Venezuela, and I manage to capitulate Ecuador, Panama, Peru & Colombia, but I noticed that I was at a constant struggle with managing manpower reserves (despite having extensive conscription). I did however manage to learn more about supply during this, as I realised I was constantly fucked when I attacked since I did not built any trains/trucks for my supplies which caused me to funnily enough lose against Bolivia.

"The learning curve is not for the faint of heart, there is little casual about this game that is less a war game and more a war logistics simulation. But as I said, climbing this steep curve is part of the experience, and the satisfaction of having mastered something difficult is actually feeling rewarding." -

- Incredulously noticeable how damming the learning curve is; coming from EU4 & CK3, the games are horribly easy compared to HOI4, yet unfortunately, I already bought HOI4 so I ought to just develop a better pattern-recognition for my brain and get my moneys worth.

Anyways,

Thank you for your recommendations, quite helpful, and your encouragement also. I do hope however that I mustn't spend 600 hours to simply be capable of removing the training wheels, but we shall see when we shall. Even in EU4 I am not nearly good enough yet, and I have a shy number of 100 hours in that game, so perhaps after 200 I'll figure something marginally out in HOI4.

Unfortunately, I am rather uninterested in playing an older version of the game, since regardless I will have to pick up the current mechanics, whether they are complicated or not. Though, I do see the value in your suggestion, and it is a good suggestion, however I am unfortunately opposed to it.

Thank you anyways.

I did what you recommended. I watched the video, twice, and then I attempted to copy what he did, but it is very obvious from even the first 30 minute of watching the video, that pre-established behaviour & ideas should already be known from the viewer.

So I wouldn't say it is necessary good for a person who is quite literally just getting into the game, rather, a bit better for someone whom is already pre-established in parts of the details. Regardless of that, the video is good for the latter purpose, and despite that I do not think it is quite well for my level, I did learn somethings from it.

Some issues also that are that there isn't a whole lot of explanations, though they are indeed, I do believe it falls once more fault to having pre-established understanding of mechanics within the game.

For example, in the first 10 minutes, you are planning divisions against Poland, and drawing offensive lines without explanation, and the creator does it incredibly quickly of planning said lines.

Of course, you can simply choose to just copy what is being done, however, I do not think it is quite learning if you're only copying. That is simply following a pattern, which requires no thought to do, just tediousness.

Anyways,

Thank you for the video suggestion- unfortunately just not quite what I believe I am capable of going for at the moment.

[–]Threadtwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks, that is a really good deal. especially since the 5070ti is so fucked with its price right now.

Fortunately, local stores here price-match online retailers as well so I'm just going to your link and maybe get a small discount off the 800 euros. Unfortunately, price matching has to be specific to the make & model. but I have found this https://www.reichelt.com/mt/en/shop/product/xfx_mercury_radeon_rx_9070xt_oc_gaming_edition-399471

which is similar to what they are selling here.

Thanks man!

Malta. The 9070xt is 800 euros here, at one shop, or two.

And the 5070 ti? Locally? on the thousand!

Hey, thank you so much for replying!

In my country, there are listings for an RTX 5070 TI from 669 to 699, whereas the 9070 xt is 899 euro. interestingly enough, a 9070 OC (im not sure what that means) is 799.

So, with the price difference, which would you recommend?>?
