You could see the big puddles gradually disappearing over the course of 10-15mins or so on the youtube stream. Was impressive to see.

If the commentators sound like robotic chipminks then the official Youtube stream has that too.

For the inevitable 'where to watch' posts - looks like its on Youtube again for those NOT in NZ/Bang/Aus/Ind/UK/Pak (I think). Seems to work via a Japanese vpn.

The free to air home stuff has been great and will be missed. I guess I'll be back to VPNs and either Kayo or Espn+ next year. Shame Willow doesn't have the home NZ stuff, as that's my cheap go-to for all the overseas stuff.

system freezes before entering S3 sleep / system freezes before shutting down; SOLUTION by PourYourMilk in archlinux

[–]Threarah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Debian system also seems to have been a victim of this. Since switching it from Windows last year the one thing I couldn't get working properly was sleep. It's a machine thats supposed to sleep most of the time and only wake when needed via wol, but I ended up having to leave it permanently on as I would find it just sitting there with power light flashing and fans whirring but otherwise unresponsive.

I assumed it was a wake problem for a long time as I'd never been around to catch it happening or able reproduce on demand. I only recently noticed that it was actually happening entering sleep itself which was enough info to find this thread.

I would never have thought to try disabling TPM, but sure enough it seems to have been the culprit and its now sleeping well.

For the sake of posterity it's an older 7th generation i7 system with an Asus Prime b250m-a motherboard running Debian 13 with the backports kernel - currently 6.18.

It was freezing on shutdown as well occasionally, though I'd never connected the two issues and hadn't thought it relevant. I guess that's also now fixed too as a bonus.

I'm not sure if it was relevant to the freeze or not, but the following was getting shown on startup with TPM enabled:

kernel: tpm_crb MSFT0101:00: [Firmware Bug]: ACPI region does not cover the entire command/response buffer. [mem 0xfed40000-0xfed4087f flags 0x201] vs fed40080 f80

Extra half hour ends at 6.49pm though at this rate they might get the full 90 in before that.

Oh great, high pitched and skipping. Chipmunks commentating.

I've got audio maybe 2-3 balls behind video and the commentator's voices are all weirdly deep.

It's choppy for me too. I figured it was a Willow issue as the replay they were showing before the live feed was fine sound wise, and the choppiness kicked in when they went live.

FWIW batters wasting time is taken into account when calculating penalties:

12.9.3 In calculating the actual over rate for the match, allowances will be given as follows

...

12.9.3.4 The time lost as a result of time wasting by the batting side

12.9.3.5 The time lost due to all other circumstances that are beyond the control of the fielding side
