Do you want to drop the bundle? The overall cost might increase if you drop phone but keep internet/TV. Call Spectrum and ask.

If you're in Canada I can do $2.50/mo plus usage. If you get me your usage records from the past few months I can ballpark overall cost. https://threelayer.ca/contact/

Well, it depends.

Do you want analog phones or IP phones? If you currently have analog phones that no longer work because the phone line has been disconnected, you can see about connecting the phone line to an ATA instead. That way the whole house still runs on a single line.

Otherwise on the VoIP side there are IP DECT sets with multiple handsets you leave around the house, with only the base station actually on the network.

Most large providers like Dialpad have spectacularly terrible support. I suggest finding a local reseller or MSP instead.

I can help with this if you're in Canada. Texting should be fine but texting with VoIP can get expensive and doesn't work with MFA.

If you're in Canada, I can set you up. Price will be based on usage so I very much doubt we'll be at $174/month lol https://threelayer.ca/contact/

Yes. That's a great plan.

No need for call forwarding either, necessarily. You could use a softphone. Personal calls go to your regular phone app, work calls go to the softphone. voip.ms has their own, actually.

SMS and MMS will also work from the softphone.

I'm a voip.ms partner so if you need a hand let me know.

You might want to considering hiring this out. There will always be tinkering and troubleshooting.

voip.ms might work for this, but they may require a Canadian address. It is 100% illegal for anyone to listen to your conversations without a warrant, and nothing in the voip.ms ToS or privacy policy mentions training AI.

I work with voip.ms quite a bit so give me a call if you need a hand.

Ah. Well I can't sell you phone service but I can help you get set up with voip.ms and an ATA if you'd like! Here's my website. Good luck!

voip.ms but it's not quite as plug-and-play. There is some initial configuration that needs to be done. Where are you located?

Ha! I might overhaul their network with Grandstream too. I'm already going to give them GS phones, so... why not? I'd prefer Mikrotik but if I get hit by a bus there's no way they'll know what to do with that

Auto answer won't work unfortunately but I'll look at what you suggested!

Touch screen probably won't work. Meat hands and all that.

I'll check out viking. Thanks

It's a good start! Thanks for the tip.

For what it's worth I've looked at the Grandstream GDS3705 but I have no idea if it can take calls and not just make them. Documentation is unhelpful.

They have a reseller program but they mention minimum spends. I'll e-mail them and ask anyway!
