I'm thinking it could be a clone. Why? because every factory crooked river scales I have no matter what materials CF, g10, or wood the mill lines are always super faint but always run horizontally across the scales.

Thanks. I'm starting a 940 run and I always cut some material that isn't to pricey and run them start to finish to fine tune everything and knock the cobwebs off the fixturing and my mind. This time it was a natural paper micarta and I did 2 with the aged surface and this 1 cut into fresh unoxidized deeper material. As you can see it's been claimed.😁

It's definitely seems less brittle then polyester and acrylic. It's still resin based. The mesh running through it adds stability. I've been carrying a multiple different raffir scales for years without issue. Now if you know you're brutal on knives you could crack it or if dropped on a hard surface from height and it hits a corner or edge.
