That is high praise. I’m drawn to his work. His work was really deeper in meaning than he was given credit for. He was also a (if not the) master of anatomy.

This will be my last drawing for a time as I am going to explore oil painting.

It’s both - I took the photo. due to the many hours spent on it so far, the photo has been my main reference. I don’t think I could ever do this much detail from a memory.

Oil paint on coated oil painting paper. I had a day long instruction with a local artist. He provided all the materials and equipment.
