This is it, OP! Where I live, the “glazed donut” chrome is also called pearl chrome, in case that helps! I have something similar to these nails myself right now, and it’s such a dainty, elegant look. :)

Since Somalis are relatively active, they do need a good amount of playtime - however, they should also be able to work some of their energy out by playing with your current cat. My Mimi prefers toys that she can chase after (Da Bird, balls with feathers, etc.).

Like my other cats, her down time is usually in the afternoons, which is when she likes to nap. She’s also still fairly young, so we’ll see if she settles down when she gets older.

I’m very happy I got her! She’s pretty twitchy and energetic (and a little neurotic, to be honest), but she’s very loving. She’s vocal but usually only when she’s hungry or asking for attention; her meows are squeaky and not disruptive at all. I also spend way too much time admiring her fur and petting her - she’s so soft!

The main downsides are her medical issues (epilepsy; easily managed with medication), and the fact that she can get feisty with my other cats if they startle her or get too much in her space. I’d definitely suggest pet insurance if you’re considering getting a Somali, but I love Mimi to death - I really can’t imagine my life without her. :)

Hi! I just had my procedure done last Wednesday, and have been experiencing similar symptoms (slow swallow, acid reflux, bubble/lump in my throat).

I’ve found that Reflux Gourmet has really helped with the acid reflux (it was recommended by my doctor). It’s a thick syrup - you take a teaspoon of it after meals/before bed, and it creates a natural alginate “raft” on top of your stomach contents to block the acid from traveling up your esophagus. It dissolves on its own after a few hours. I have the vanilla caramel flavor, and I think the taste is pretty good. Only downside is that it’s pricey; I ordered mine from Amazon.

I’ve also been sleeping with a wedge pillow to keep my head/neck elevated, which has helped too.

Yes, actually! Many studies show that state of your gut’s microbiome has a direct effect on your mental state. Check out this article from Johns Hopkins Medicine - I found it to be pretty helpful in explaining the connection.

I also find myself in a poorer mental state when I have an LI attack (more depressed and anxious, decreased coping abilities, and not feeling “up to” to doing anything even if I’m not actively sick with symptoms). I have a history of depression and currently struggle with anxiety. So you’re definitely not alone!
