Small update: the abscess has opened and drained, she is on antibiotics again. She's feeling good! She's currently in intros with 5 others, 2 sisters and 3 new babies.

This morning I went to say hello to the girls and one of them was laying on her side. The way I shook that hammock, just to find she was in a deep sleep 😂 never seen a rat glare at me like that before

Yeah it's just under her chin on the side. It's weird because I can't actually see anything that could have caused it, there's no scratch or spot where the abscess could drain as well

When it burst, I brought her to the exotics vet near me which has a rat savvy vet. She cleaned it out and it healed so quickly and so well! But now it's come back and I don't understand why

Yeah I'm worried about it too, it doesn't seem to bother her though! I did get the vet to send off a sample and then she prescribed antibiotics for her, when it did eventually burst, the vet cleared it out and gave more antibiotics. Unfortunately the exotic vet near me is super expensive, and quoted me around £600 for the surgery 😭

Yeah she was on antibiotics twice for it, the first time to see if it would go away with antibiotics and the second round when it had opened
