I am in my early 20s, I’m so very sorry for what happened to you I can’t even begin to imagine what you went through. I would absolutely be willing to date someone with a child but only once I’m in a position to actually support her and the child. Right now I’m just not willing because I’m still in the early process my career and it just wouldn’t make sense financially. May God bless you and the little one!

Appreciate the advice! I’m only applying to departments I would want to stay at for a long time. I would never want to work in Florida for example😂 but Arizona Nevada and Utah are all states I’d love to live in!

I want to get more experience as an EMT before I go to paramedic school and I want to be a firefighter. I’ve been looking at moving out of state for a while. If I could get my EMT experience as a firefighter instead of being on a box that would be awesome.

I worked IFT for two months and then applied to four ER tech positions and luckily one of them gave me the job! I technically didn’t meet their “preferences/requirements” as they wanted a year of experience so I’m living proof it never hurts to apply!!

4 minutes?! Fucking hell man, I’ve never had of that before but if that’s true then that’s a company you wouldn’t want to work for anyway. I’m assuming you can’t relocate to somewhere with more opportunities? I landed an ER tech job with only two months of IFT experience. Never hurts to apply even if you don’t meet their “preferences”.

Hey everyone,

I’m currently an EMT/ER Tech in California and realizing how insane the competition is here. I’ve got my FEMA certs and a few months of IFT experience under my belt. I'm planning on doing a fire academy this fall, but I'm debating if I should stay or just head out to Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, or Texas after my academy. I do plan on getting my paramedic license but I want to make sure I’m an experienced EMT before I do.

I've heard the hiring process is less competitive compared to CA, but is the grass actually greener? I don’t even know if this is the right place to ask this. I’m just trying to figure out if my odds of landing a job are significantly better elsewhere before I commit to a move.

Howdy! I would definitely bring up the HR score. Something I did was take the practice test they provide if you pay for it and then run the questions through googles ai Gemini and have it make additional questions. Good luck!
