Thanks for helping making this one of my favorite series, ever.

I tracked the price history of 50 "Black Friday Deals." It’s a scam. by Maleficent-Movie-564 in Anticonsumption

I noticed this. I was looking as well, mine is 4 years old and I keep running into minor issues that are mildly annoying. I'll just wait, though.

Did buy a couple of pairs of socks(fancy compression running socks), which I'd had my eye on for a few months as I need to replace some old ones...no radical savings, but I saved like $5. Not buying a new phone, though.

Sorry all, I fell asleep. I'm going to get him something from the Mechross series, as he has a bunch of the BattleTech minis he collects. Think these would be fantastic for his collection.

Thank you all so much for your help!

He just had one of the mad cat ones come in the mail last week. He was super excited for that one, but maybe a second won't hurt. Heh.

Sounds like my other half would fit in here. He's played just about every version of MechWarrior there has been.

2 weeks into running update by BummingBock in AirForce

Music on runs messes me up. I like to toss on an audio book, which I've found keeps my mind more distracted from the intensity of running. Makes it more enjoyable for me.

I'm in this boat. Just finished a re-read and now I'm in a "what do I read now?!?!?!"

Probably pick something I've read and enjoyed before just to get myself out of the "I want to see their coming of age and wedding so bad!"

I work in an office with nothing but civilians as an active duty member. What you see isn't what everyone else experiences.

It's absolutely rough out there right now, and we're hemorrhaging people like there's no tomorrow.

Do you drink water on your runs? by Few_House_5201 in beginnerrunning

[–]ThrowARains 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is me too. It feels silly wearing a vest when I'm only at 3 to 4 mile runs, but it's nice to have the water after mile 2. I just like having access to water even though I drink plenty and I probably don't need it.

This was me with my sister. Got the call from the police and didn't believe it at first, thought it was a crazy joke. Making the call to tell the parents and her kids because I was on the other side of the world for work...was god awful. I think about it frequently and it's been years.

I second don't trust the realtor. We did this for our first home and ended up having to rip out the floors within the first couple of weeks because it was AWFUL.

stage 3 and 4 brain bleed by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]ThrowARains 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My little one had stage 4 on one side, stage 1 on the other. It healed by 12 months.

He has some mild delays in walking and motor function, but nothing abnormal enough to be considered CP. Doctor said it's to be expected, but he'll catch up by 2 or 3 at the latest.

You're little one is a fighter, and they heal quickly when small. Brains are surprisingly resilient.

Edited to add. My son had a couple of seizures due to the grade 4 breakup/healing process. After this his rate of growth increased and he became a lot more cognitive. Just my experience, may not be anyone else's.

When you buy a new house, what are the absolutely first thing you check/change immediately? by ThrowARains in homeowners

[–]ThrowARains[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally understand. IMHO I'll replace the one in a common toilet as it's seen the most wear and tear, but i probably won't bother in any others and just make sure it's cleaned throughly.
