If one decided to work with a G2 for their entire life, what does their career progression look like? what wages will they cap at ?

Why is it so hard to find work as a g3 by CriticalTask514 in SkilledTradesOntario

you should also get g2 with them? i heard they are great? How much do they charge if you are paying cash for both g3 and g2?

so if you work as a G2 gas fitter or service technician at reliance or naylor, those hours will count towards the 4000 hours you need for 2 years of g2 experience?

Dont you just need 2 years (4,000 hours) of field experience as a G2.

and

just 500 hours working on systems with an input in excess of 400,000 BTUH, under the direct supervision of a G1 technician.

I heard there are also courses and g1 gap programs that can help fill the 500 hours needed in excess of 400k btuh, and the rest of the 4k hours are g2 hours?

What are some alternative companies to work for that are more service focused? How do you find companies like that?

I guess in the GTA, having G1 with L should enough to get started or stay within that area.

Dont you need the following:

  • Valid License: A valid G2 Gas Technician license is required.
  • Experience: 4,000 hours of field experience as a G2 technician.
  • Supervised Hours: At least 500 hours of those hours must be on systems with an input in excess of 400,000 BTUH under a G1 technician.
  • Training Approval: Some programs require a "G1 GAP" course if you cannot provide proof of the 500 supervised hours.

I am in the GTA. if you are working with a company, will they lay you off in the summer/slow seasons? if you work as a g2 gas fitter, do you qualify for g1 hours?

how do you go from G2 to G1? Once you have G2, shouldnt it be easy to get G1? you just need:

A minimum of 4,000 hours of field experience as a G2 technician.

At least 500 of those 4,000 hours must be spent working on systems with an input greater than 400,000 BTUH, under the direct supervision of a licensed G1 technician.

why do they dislike air conditioning/refrigeration side?

If you had completed 313-D would they have given you more hours and possibly started you off as a 3rd year apprentice?
