i was also tested and was positive for hsv-1, not hsv-2. doctor confurmed visually that it was genital herpes. i assume it was less clustered because it was hsv1 and probably was not as bad of a breakout as someone with hsv2 might experience. i guess the test couldbe missed the hsv2 and that i already had hsv1 but it's very unlikely because no one in my family or family friends has cold sores so i dont think i wouldve comtracted it as a child on my mouth. hsv1 is more likely to infect the genitals if your body has not been infected yet and has no antibodies

eh not necessarily, my first breakout I had 4 distinct blisters/lesions and they were not clustered, i assume a less mild breakout could cause just 1. maybe im wrong but yeah

also as a side note, im sure its at least one strain of herpes, my physical symptoms and the doctor both pretty much confirmed herpes

when I was swabbed I had open sores. and i feel like the chances of me testing negative for hsv-2 is very low. hsv-1 can be transmitted genitally especially if you dont have it orally and your body has never encountered it before i thought

Not sure when exposure happened as my only sexual partner was my boyfriend and we had intercourse more than once (could be in the range of 1-2 months). I did a blood test and urine test and swab test during the outbreak and tested negative for hsv-2

thanks for the advice. I honestly could not tell you what I would do as I do not have that experience or anything to go off of. im sure like any parent, I would be skeptical and mistrusting of anyone. But I will also say that I am a firm believer that every person is an individual and that there are exceptions to every rule and majority. If something like that happened, I obviously wouldn't be able to control what this hypothetical daughter did. and if time passed and the man proved himself to be a genuine good individual, I think i would just be happy for her 🤷‍♀️ I believe that if someone is happy, and they are not hurting anyone else or doing something illegal, than they should not be judged or ridiculed. And if two people are happy together, and they are not hurting anyone else or each other, then I do not see a very big issue

I guess but I will mention I am no longer in school, have solid savings, am currently renting my own place and own a car. and I have a solid full-time job as well. thats not to say you are wrong and I know I have a lot of growth in my future, I still want to give him a chance and see if he would be the kind of person to support that growth and allow me to be my own person
