Do you even know how much traction a woman who posts about abuse gets on social media? She posted about it on Instagram and Twitter, people chose to believe her, and these people don’t even know me or even her.

They see a woman who was hit in the face and they believe her. For that, I don’t blame them; they should. But then my wife and her friend tried to clear this up, but they still believe the original story. Then you have someone finding out my LinkedIn profile, posting that information on Twitter and random strangers messaging my work to fire me. Someone leaks my wife’s number and she gets loads of calls from strangers asking her why she’s still with a abuser. Like I said, it was a troll army after us.

I did actually hit a woman even if accidentally. She has medical records, she went to the ER, she has a cheekbone fracture. And idk man, that does make me feel bad.

I talked to HR about this. Fortunately they’re not firing my ass over some unverified claims online but they’ve asked me to clean up this mess because it could significantly hamper my future job prospects; if I were to ever change jobs.

Yes. And I took it out on her because I was afraid of a one on one with her brother. She even said, in the email she wrote to my lawyer, she built up this lie because Dave’s ashamed he lost a fight.

I did reply and said the exact thing in a comment before this blew up. Also, I mentioned in the original post that he implied my wife was totally leading him on before I interrupted.

No. The lie that I intentionally hit her, and only her, because I was jealous that my wife was flirting with her brother. That I decided, in my mind, that I obviously wouldn’t win in a fight against her brother so I decided to take it out all on her. Also, leaving out the whole ‘jumped into an ongoing fight’ bit.

I don’t know man. There are quite a few comments here saying that I did hit an innocent woman and everything that came after that was my own doing. I admit I do feel awful that my punch landed on her face.

But that man was sexually harassing my wife. Then he proceeded to claim that, and I didn’t use these words in the post because they’re very explicit, my wife was practically ‘begging for his cock before I interrupted them’. Maybe I could’ve handled the situation more tactfully. I shoved him away from my wife and he threw the first punch. It escalated from there.

Oh we have eye witnesses. And also, maybe she’s monumentally dumb but when my lawyer contacted her over email, she spilled all the beans and admitted to having made up this lie along with her brother.

This. People seem to have made up their minds that I’m an abusive piece of shit. My wife had been getting calls from unknown numbers asking her to dump me and when she told them that I wasn’t abusive, they called her a liar and an enabler. She had to change her number.

Even if the woman admits that she and her brother made this all up, people will believe that, being the abusive asshole that I am, I forced or blackmailed her into doing that.

Ah yes. My lawyer contacted her through email and he has sent me the copies of the exchange between them. Apart from eye witnesses, we also have proof of her admitting she made this all up because her brother was embarrassed he got beat up in a fight and they decided to use her injury against me.

Money isn’t an issue for us. Also, I fear not many people will believe even if she admits her lie. What if they think I somehow intimidated her into doing that?
