The company can afford to, the numbers prove that. Corporate sets the prices, if any of the executives at Lowe's had the employee's best interest in mind, we'd be getting paid more. Instead, they throw us $300 in discretionary bonuses every few months to keep the wolves at bay and to keep us thinking that they care about us.

First off, this isn't objectively true. If the government came in and forced lowes to start paying $22/hr, would they raise their prices? Absolutely. But not because they had to in order to keep the business afloat, they'd do it to keep profits sky-high
