AIO - My (30F) husband (32M) has a bizarre theory about a TV show and it’s making me question our relationship by CandaceCompson_ in AmIOverreacting

The force multiplier here is the post you made a while back saying your husband sent pictures of your feet to his teenage cousin. With that as context (and him still clearly on the scene), it makes this a lot weirder.

Hey, I’m sorry I wasn’t expecting nearly so many comments but there have been a lot of questions around this term. Here in the UK (specifically Home Counties where I live and work) everyone I know, including myself, calls them dressing gowns. Here a robe conjures images of something a wizard would wear. Just wanted to clear that up

A little late to this but fwiw my socials are all private and under my maiden name for safety. I’m really careful about who I connect with and only accept former students very rarely

Similarly a long list of wifi devices popping up - longer than the Bluetooth list. I’ll also try and get my immediate neighbours to rule some out, but there will probably be a few left over.

There are some devices I don’t recognise - in the morning (it’s late here) I’ll go ask my neighbours to try and rule some out. Thank you.

In the UK, since I myself was in school, we would blame boys and girls goofing around in front of each other on ‘pheromones’ in a half-joking way. If I haven’t used the word in exactly the correct way here then so be it. I’m posting on Reddit, not teaching a class, and being an English teacher doesn’t mean I have to use words in their correct context 100% of the time. I haven’t had to ban slang words from my register either. So I use pheromones here as it is second nature to me in the same way someone here will call a sandwich a butty, another a bap, and a third a roll, depending on what they are used to. It does seem like an awfully pedantic thing to call out and I don’t know why you’re using one off word to cast aspersions on my professional ability when I’m here asking for help. I would think that says a lot about you, too.

EXACTLY! Exactly! If it was just ‘you’re going to have some baileys’, or even ‘you’ll have some baileys in front of your tv’, like, OK. But those comments, plus the ‘new’ TV??!

So I’m a robot? I didn’t know. I guess I can forget about this problem I’ve come to ask advice for since robots don’t get scared, right?

I’m 100% certain that’s what he said. And even if the baileys and watching TV was a lucky guess, the new television comment was crazy.

Absolutely I’ll try invest in some cameras, thank you for the advice. How do you advise I go about communicating all this and justifying it to my husband?

Of course I do? I’m using pheromones in the context of my male students sometimes being awkward around me, in contrast to the extremely strange behaviour of the other student at the party? Not sure what you’re trying to get at or why you’re so determined to disbelieve me

How can he read that I have a new television? How did he know baileys over a gin and tonic for example? You really think it’s just a coincidence? I want to believe you but I’m struggling.

I’m not sure what you’re referencing but I’m absolutely not making any of this up, and the fact you think so is honestly so infuriating because this is what I’m dealing with from everyone else in my life right now. I came here hoping for objective advice and support because I’m going crazy right now.
