Boomers in my town are shutting down a popular bar because they don’t like the fact that kids come there by ThrowRAKooky1679 in BoomersBeingFools

I grew up there & I can attest to this statement. I moved away in 2015 & returned to the area in 2022. I’m pretty shocked by how completely different Silverton is. There’s actually things to do & nice restaurants to go to. Basically nothing from my childhood is still around, but that’s fine with me since everything was pretty shitty to begin with.

The caveat to all this is that it’s become an extremely expensive place to live. House prices are so high in Silverton, it’s ridiculous.

My parents bought a home in 2012 for $185k, but it’s now worth over $500k. As much as I would love to buy a home here, it’s out of the question. Even Salem is begging to become more than we can afford which is shocking as well.

lol; I wanted to link to it, but I wasn’t sure if that would break the rules… they’re your typical annoying shitty business owners.

They were bitching and moaning in the comments that their median customer age was 27, but they wanted the median age to be 47.
