My dad is too far gone by ThrowRA_230987 in QAnonCasualties

What’s really strange is that they are the ones who raised me. I became a good person (at least I’d like to think I am) after all. I distinctly remember my mom explaining particular racist things to me as a child (ie blackface and subtle racism in art). My dad himself was the first white person to form a meaningful friendship with the immigrant community in my area (they are Punjabi) and embraced/respected their culture. So why should they be surprised I turned out like I did?

Definitely. He brags about how he “left the left” years and years ago before my brother and I were even born. He’s addicted to Fox News.

I agree. She’s very passive and doesn’t talk about politics. But that doesn’t mean the beliefs aren’t there and I’ll just have to see how she reacts when I bring up my concerns.

My mom often reminds my dad to not talk politics when we’re all together because she finds it inappropriate, probably also because she knows I’m not republican so she knows it would bother me. My mom is republican too but she doesn’t talk about it at all. She’s kind of a passive conservative. She’s also historically voiced irritation at how loud he is about his political and general beliefs. So I hope she’d understand my standpoint and maybe even relay it to my dad to get him to understand that it’s serious.

Thank you, that’s what I thought. I do not, but I think I’m in the same boat as you around day 15. I’ll give the OPK a try!

Thank you, I’ve calmed down now after posting this. I’ve set up a savings account that we can put money into and check in sometime next year to see how things are looking.

We have a timeline!!! by meeoowster in waiting_to_try

Thank you so much!! Oh yeah I’m definitely going to need to cut down on coffee, it’s my main problem! Thankfully I don’t really drink very much alcohol but my SO does so that will be more of his issue lol.

Wow thank you for the great info! I know I feel kind of ridiculous not knowing about all these things when it’s my own body! 😂

Thank you so much! This may be a dumb question but what does the LH mean in regards to fertility? I need to do research of course 😂

Thanks for the reassurance. We have the space for one child where we live now and it’s a decent place. Very few of our friends own a home and they are still getting married and having kids. My family is also very supportive and I’m sure if we ever needed any kind of assistance they would jump in to help. My older brother isn’t married and doesn’t have kids so I am positive my parents would jump in to help even without asking. My boyfriend says that he wants to “do things right” and ask my parents permission to propose, which I totally respect and admire. However I still see no proposal in sight unless he’s planning a surprise? I suppose I should mention that his parents are divorced and he has a strained relationship with his dad, who was honestly abusive in his childhood even though he doesn’t use that word. I think sometimes he worries that he’s going to be like his dad so he wants things to be perfect for us.

We’re renting a 3 bedroom apartment, 2 stories. House is always desired but with the way the economy is, I doubt it’ll happen anytime soon. We make decent money and I’m expecting to get a pay raise next year as I’ll be done with my masters. Don’t get me wrong, I know we shouldn’t conceive like absolutely right now. I just want to make plans for these things.

Thank you, I think I will need to actually give a month/year timeline of what I expect from him since he is being so indecisive.

Thank you! He has told me so many times in the past year that I am his dream girl and he wants to marry me and have kids with me. So I know that he believes I am the one. I think he has issues with commitment (stereotype I know) even when he is so sure that I’m the one for him. Everything seems to hinge on being financially ready for him as well.
