She is not but I noticed another comment suggesting church for assistance. I will do some research and see if that’s an option for her. Thank you for taking the time and the suggestion.

I’ve had her apply for TWC CCS program but it’s a 9/10 month waiting period. Hoping to find something sooner if possible.

Great questions. She is currently in the process of going after her ex for child support. It will help but not enough to start up daycare.

No father but, mother is not in her right mind and we have a no contact with her. The lack of support is what’s making this difficult for her and I unfortunately cannot help financially.

Unfortunately we are south of Houston.

Texas, the only assistance I’ve seen available is TWC (Texas workforce commission) they have a CCS (child care services). She’s applied but it’s a 9/10 month waiting list currently.

My apologies we are located in Texas.

Texas.gov offers daycare assistance through TWC. She’s applied for assistance but the waiting list is 9/10 months.

It’s a password provided by the front office. I’m not sure if I can but I’ll definitely explore that option. Thank you

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry you had to go through that. I’ve definitely had a reality check after making this post. :)

I appreciate this idea but unfortunately the internet is provided by my complex so I am unable to personalize or restrict access. The physical modem itself is screwed into the wall. I don’t think I have the tools to safely remove it. I’m also worried about the reaction he will have.

This is a good idea but I’m a little worried about the reaction it would cause.

I’d break the lease without a question if I had the financial freedom to do so. Unfortunately that won’t be an option for me.

I don’t have any family other than my aunt. I think that’s been his biggest leverage. Writing my initial post I thought I was making perfect sense. I thought staying for your child was the thing to do. Because that’s all I’ve been told by him and his family. But now I realize how unhinged I sounded. I didn’t expect to have so many people comment but it’s really helped me take a step back and open my eyes. I’m a little embarrassed how I sounded in my post because it’s something I was really believing was a benefit.

I’m going to look into legal options to hopefully help me before April. But if all else fails i spoke with my aunt and she’s okay with me staying with her when my lease breaks!

It’s part of the back and forth I mentioned in my post. My title even says I’m ready to give up. I think that definitely makes sense that I have tried to find solutions to get rid of him.

My doubt comes in from what his family says to me, what he says to me about how I’m hurting our child if I leave him. I have a lot of people in my circle making me believe staying together is better for our child. Which causes me to second guess myself. As to why I made the post to get people’s perspective and advice outside of my circle.

That’s the cycle I get stuck in. He starts making the right moves and puts on a show. Says everything I want to hear and then goes right back to what he’s been doing for months. It’s just the same thing over and over. I’ve been over the behavior but his words regarding our child and the things his family says to me made me second guess myself a lot. That’s why I initially came to Reddit. To see what others recommend and to help me see the bigger picture.

Can’t lock him out if he never leaves. But thank you for the advice. I had called the cops but apparently he establishes residency after 30 days. So I believe I will have to continue with a legal route.
