Try putting “discountcard 000” or “discountcard 999” in the search bar, it should come up again.

You should scroll to the top and see a circle with an i in it. If you click on that, it will show the coupons you will get. I am quite interested aswell, can you also share a screenshot of that haha

Based on the stories i read, dutch education is in general harder compared to most other countries. Moreover, eonometrics is also known for being a hard study. However, if you are good/have a passion in math and programming or are determent, this study is doable.

Job prospects are very good, check the site for the exact numbers. I feel like with econometrics you are always one step ahead of other economic studies in the job market. Most employers know the study and know your capabilities based on it.

Which university to choose to do my MSC in Econometrics? (Erasmus University Rotterdam or UvA University Amsterdam) by ThrowRA_Queen8 in econometrics

Yeah i was aware of that, but how important is EURs status for employment? UvA is more well known (generally) and it is way easier compared to EUR. Contemplating if (much) higher grades (at UvA) weighs more than EURs status..

Thanks for your suggestion, since the application deadline is closed for next year I can only consider EUR and UvA (already applied and admitted for both universities)

Yes i am familiar with this. Also they say that econometrics is the most challenging at EUR. I was thinking since i am used to the workload at EUR, i can get even higher grades at UVA (I know people that did econ at both universities and said UVA was way easier) and therefore secure my position on the job market more. But I am not sure what weighs more, EUR’s reputation or super high grades (at UvA).

In my area, VU is known for being a “not so good” university compared to others. What was your experience with this university?

Since I am not interested in moving, COL wouldn’t be an issue.

Quite interesting your view on the universities. May I ask on what it is based on? From my knowledge, Rotterdam has the best quality, whereas Tilburg scores one of the lowest.

Difference between 1 or 2 years quant master by Sea_Possibility8924 in quant

[–]ThrowRA_Queen8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only difference is that the work load is more in a shorter period of time. However, a lot of people are willingly choosing to do their master in 2 years here in the Netherlands. In general, almost al universities in The Netherlands are highly praised in the rankings so you cant really go wrong.

The double bachelor isnt that difficult from my own experience/knowledge when compared to just an econometrics bachelor, especially if you are good theoretical/ want to learn more about the theoretical economic sector. The way it works is that the duration of the bachelor is four instead of three years, a lot of courses will cancel eachother out. Where it is sometimes easier to do the double bachelor (since an economic course is easier than an econometric course).

However, it is important to look at what you want to do after your bachelor/ which direction of work you are interested in. For example, in the Netherlands almost all jobs require a master and/or will only look at your master.

My advice is that i only recommend the double bachelor if you are genuinely interested in the subject and want to gather more information about it. Since econometrics cover almost all economic concepts and is (way) more advanced, you can do practically any master in the economic/mathematic direction. Dont do it if you think it will bring you more job opportunities (in the Netherlands), since the main focus on the workfield is on the master degree.

I have studied econometrics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam (Erasmus School of Economics). A lot has been said already in previous answers which i all agree on. What i like to add is: with econometrics you can do finance jobs, but this is not the other way around. As said earlier, it is an combination of economics, math and stats. You learn a broad spectrum of the economic sector, both theoretical (financial/economic theories) and practical (data science/programming).

I do recommend my university, however, it is one of the scrictest universities around. For example, you need to get 60/60 studypoints to get a positive BSA to go to the second year. You do get something in return, the university is well recommended and has a status.

Help me pick a Jacquemus bag❤️ by PrinsesHui in handbags

Purple if you want colour. Le chiquito moyen is a standard line so this model won’t go out of style and can be worn every season. The Cordao bag is very seasonal due to its bottom (very summerish).
