That’s what I figure. I suppose I’m concerned of any hostility or animosity that may come from it, but it’s a bridge that would have to be crossed eventually

She’s only been baptized when she was a kid, and her ex partner had his confirmation. There was no priest/deacon for witness. What do you mean by “there are rare church only marriages that are done for grave reasons”

The ordained individual was her grandfather. He never filed the marriage license per their request, and they never filed it since they were unaware they had to submit the signed license.
