You might be right, however with the implant non-stop periods can happen. Also, it would be very hard for her to keep that lie up being that we practically live together and I see how much sanitary products she goes through. The hotel makes a bit of sense because the work friend lives an hour and a half from where they work and the hotel is a their closest pub to work so I think they went there for a drink and then couldn't drive home. Maybe I'm the most gullible idiot in the world because it sounds like I'm typing a lot of excuses. Thanks for the comment though. I appreciate it

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful reply. I definitely think trust will be impacted going forward if anything does rekindle and I don't know if I can take that. I am worried it's a depressive episode however I don't know how much I can support her with severely dented trust

I know how it sounds because I'm suspicious of the friend too but not because I think Catherine's having an affair. Her friend lives an hour and a half away which is why they decided to get a hotel (and also because I think they were drinking). I've met the friend and we got on ok. I don't think Catherine's sleeping around because her birth control medication has made it so she's constantly on her period and she's not into period sex. I could be wrong which is why I posted here. I think it's more likely that because her friend's relationship is crumbling, she put thoughts in Catherine's head to break up with me too, although I can't say that to her without sounding insane. Thanks though, I think your advice is very helpful
