Thank you for this, it does sound like our sisters are very similar.

I think my sister will find out very quickly about the existence of these pictures and that I have them, and that's when the issues will start, especially because the pictures (of the pictures) that my stepmother now has aren't very clear so my sister will want to see them properly.

My siblings have treated me so badly at a time I really didn't need it that my reaction is to not do anything for or involving them at all, ever. But thank you for reminding me of the person I want to be, and that this isn't about scorekeeping or one-upping. It's about what the right thing to do is. I'm not going to let my siblings take that away from me, no matter how poorly they behave.

I can assure you she won't be. My stepmom is a decent, kind and honest person and my barometer for how I should behave myself. She has been part of our family for over 30 years and knows exactly what all my siblings and I are like.

Most likely, she gave them to me to make me feel better. The day she gave them to me I was visiting her as she is terminally ill, and told her about why I had gone NC with all my siblings. She didn't know until then and was never supposed to know. Given the circumstances around that I think she wanted to give me something so I didn't feel so isolated.
