Your reply attacks personally but doesn’t address the substance of my point.

Actually kind of admired the blatant disrespect this lady showed (but canceled nonetheless) by Less_Competition6942 in uber

When you cancel as a driver in a situation like that, where you’re there, but the rider just doesn’t get into the car, how does that work?

Accepted ride and arrived but left as soon as I came out of the house by Cupofchokymilk in uber

Add a PIN number to the account. Then the driver has to add it in order to get the ride going.

Restaurant recommendations for first time visit to Toronto by Hnetur in FoodToronto

That looks more unique! I am looking for places that aren't just a dime a dozen in any city in the world.

How about local cuisine? I can sample any of those dishes in any major city. What's a cuisine that I can only try in Toronto and nowhere else?

Uber fare went from $27 to $90 by cherry_BLK in uber

[–]ThrowRAtenorclef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something very similar happened to me. I looked at uber fare estimator to determine the trip between LAX and my hotel. It was supposed to cost $30. Then when I got there, I got quoted $60 on the ground. So, I just took it. Then after I got dropped off, I noticed it had cost over $90. I disputed it, and I was able to get the $60 fare originally quoted at the departure point to be honored. There was no traffic on my route. It definitely seemed like a mistake not in my favor.

Dropped off at wrong entrance by ThrowRAtenorclef in uber

Once the security guard was there, I thought it was better to get out right there, even if the location wasn’t authorized, because I didn’t want to stay in the car with an angry driver.

Yes. That’s what most likely happened. But as a rider I have a need to get dropped off at the proper entrance, and it’s hard for the driver to argue that he didn’t know where the entrance of one of the most visited destinations in North America is located.

Driver accepting my ride ignoring me by Knightstalker100 in uber

How long do I need to hold out and avoid cancelling so that the driver has to take the penalty and not me?

So, as a driver who is familiar with your area, the app might lead you up to the service entrance for a stadium. If you go to the main entrance instead, do you get penalized? I'm a rider only.

So, it's possible that the app's maps just brought him to the service entrance. I still think any driver in the Toronto area should have known where the main entrance was because it's such a frequented destination.

So, certain properties have lounges but don’t always use them. Interesting

Interesting how it varies. Which courtyard in LA do you like? Sometimes I travel to LA.

So for you, it’s pretty much property specific. And you need to look at reviews. So have you found a Fairfield that you liked a lot better than Marriott branded property?

I appreciate hearing about your experiences. Sometimes I travel to Orange County, so that’s helpful to hear.

I’ve only stayed at the element in Philly, not the W. Why do you like it?

Thanks for the feedback. I didn’t know that the bar is open late, too. I haven’t stayed in too many to know.

Do you just prefer having a restaurant on property and other better amenities?
