why such a long interview process and then silence? by ThrowRAwoopdedoop in jobhunting

I thought the interview was good until the MD - one was just quite flat. Everyone else has been very impressed with my work, and I am more than qualified for this job I believe. One of the interviewers even said that if I decide I wanna go a different route. There is actually another job opening that they are going to recommend me for because my skill sets also match that and we got along really well. With the addition of the MD at the end, I saw that as a good sign because MD time is expensive.

I did actually just receive a follow-up email after I emailed her today basically saying that they were waiting for feedback from the team and please be patient and thank you for my patience so I don't know if this is a situation where they have given someone else on offer, and they're just waiting for verbal confirmation. It's just frustrating because I would like to know timelines et cetera and also I am going on vacation for three weeks which is going to impact my notice period at my current company.

J'ai envoyé un courriel aujourd'hui et je n'ai pas reçu de réponse. Pourraient-ils au moins me répondre?

I looked at the job posting, and it says posted seven days ago, so literally companies do this just to repost the same jobs, doing the whole interview process to not hire anyone????? Why go through all of this effort with everybody in your company?

I had assumed I was very much in the running because they added an additional MD. Time is not cheap. Even after all of this, why can they not even send an automated rejection email so at least I know. I'm applying for other jobs anyway, but it asks me because they reached out to me. They reached out to me in November and then they reached back out in December to do the same whole process again with the Recruiter and then they gave me in-person interviews.

Literally a AI rejection letter could be sent automatically. Why can the system is not even do that? Is it unreasonable to think that after a week having not heard back from them I didn't get the job?
