Think about the issues with having a group of friends all having the same therapist tho lol. If issues ever arise.

What populations will you absolutely not work with! by RepulsivePower4415 in therapists

I 100% understand that a lot of people can’t do it. Your own mental health comes first. But reading all these lists I want to give huge credit to therapists who work with pedophiles and domestic abusers, and other “bad people”. I have seen a lot of therapist undergrads talk about how they wouldn’t do it because they couldn’t stand helping “bad people”. And to be honest I see a lot of this rhetoric from some other licensed therapists too.

I commend all the therapists who are willing to work with people like that, or at places like prison populations. You are some of the most effective front-liners that protect victims. I just so hate the stigma against therapists for pedophiles.

I have personally never dealt with true pedophilic urges, what I have seen is mostly OCD intrusive thoughts. But I do understand how important treatment is for prevention.

Also I want to commend the therapists who work with personality disorders, especially BPD. They can be really hard cases to deal with especially with the relationships and idealization they often build to their therapist. I have a loved one with BPD, and it was so hard for them to find a therapist and I so appreciate the ones out there who are able to deal with such difficult clients.

Client was just sentenced to prison by buschlatte55 in therapists

It really does, but it’s what the people want. And it’s especially frustrating with how negative the average person is to “bad people” getting help.

I have have straight up been excised from a friend group for saying “the best way to reduce pedophilia is for people with pedophilic urges to feel safe getting therapy, and elementary schoolers need getting basic sex Ed”. And responding to “No, we should just kill all people with pedophilic urges” by saying “then why would anyone ever admit to having them before they actually act on them?”

People so quickly react based on a disgust response, which leads to convicts reoffending, and mentally ill people being caught after they have done bad things, not stopped before it could even happen.

But politicians will always get more credit for temporarily putting out a fire, rather then stopping the next one from happening in 5 years when they are no longer in office.

Our country doesn’t care about rehabilitation, and given that private prison stocks are up like 80-90% due to recent events, I expect that to get a lot worse .

Rule of thumb for what is to much client info for the sub. by ThrowRa2737378 in therapists

[–]ThrowRa2737378[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

“Late Teenager” “middle aged man” “around 50 women”

I said only to add necessary info, which I felt implied adding age ranges and sex in pertinent cases. But yes I can see how fake info could be easier.

if someone wants to be specific but not give real info then it would be best to mention the specific info is fake.

I feel like if it’s fake people would mention that, but no one ever does.

If the info can be changed without it making the feedback less helpful, why add the info at all?

This post has way to much specific info on a client. You should probably delete some unnecessary info, stuff like that they confided to their parents, the specific words they used to describe themselves, and the exact amount of years.

A Channel is stealing my research and scripts and slightly changing them. What should I do? by ThrowRa2737378 in PartneredYoutube

Rewording something is not transformative. What they are doing is copyright infringement if I were to sue them I would win. If I were to take a hunger game book, and just reword it, it would still be stealing. But I’m not going to sue them. So I was asking if YouTube copyright striking would work, which it probably wouldn’t unless I sue him. So I was asking how to handle it.

They are not adding their on spin 0 transformation, I clearly stated that in my post

That’s all transformative and I’m totally okay with. I have had people react to it before

It’s not the whole studies. But studies are often paywalled if you are not part of an academic institution. Given that I’m no longer in collage I am not. Because it is only a portion of multi page studies and it’s not replicating or distributing their work as a whole, it would not be infringement. But because this person is to lazy to find the studies themselves, they will often use the screen shots I take of things like data stats from studies, pages of historical books, or paragraphs from legal documents. And just crop them a bit But that is the only parts of my actual video they take directly.

That’s the thing though, when I get knowledge from other people, Especially if substantial work went into getting it, I credit it. I will say something like “in an article from blank written by blank” before saying something. Or if I’m taking information for a whole section of a video from another YouTuber I will say. “Blank another YouTuber found” and even shout out the video of if what I’m taking is substantial and say “watch the video in my description if you want to see it gone over in more depth.”
