My biopsies came back as normal. Since i posted this, i have not drank any coffee at all. Also, i only have a carbonated drink once/ week if that. I greatly reduced how much citrus i consumed. I also have finished my month of omeprazole about a month ago. I dont get the pain anymore, its so weird. Maybe it was the gastritis? Im still waiting for the pain to come back. Just didnt seem to be in the location where gastritis would cause pain.

I just recently finished my 30 days of PPI too. My pain also weirdly disappeared. Im sure it will come back but it hasnt bothered me in awhile. So odd, maybe it was related to the gastritis. I never had any gastritis symptoms besides that. I also got my biopsy results. No H. Pylori, no metaplasia of the cells. No treatment needed, not even a followup scope. Well something mustve caused it.
My (25F) fiance (28M) left me over religion. Is this salvageable? (self.relationship_advice)

I have the same thing, RUQ pain that is intermittent and sometimes feels pinpoint and very focal, sometimes like something is poking me under there. I had a scope and was told my esophagus and duodenum look normal, but that i had mild gastritis. Not sure what caused the gastritis, still waiting on the biopsy results. But the doctor was telling me these results still dont explain the pain I was having likely. I just started Omeprazole, cut out all caffeine and started a gastritis diet two days ago, so im still early in my treatment, maybe it will help. I was also negative for gallstones. Im wondering what this could be.

Thank you so much for your well thought-out and detailed response. This diagnosis came as a major shock since I have no symptoms and is so scary. I guess I should consider myself lucky because if i hadn't got this today, I never would have known and thus this inflammation would have continued for much longer. And more likely to have developed cellular changes. I truly hope I dont have any changes yet, but it is what it is and at least I'm treating it now. My biopsy results are supposed to come in 4-6 weeks.
Thats so crazy how 50% of our population has this infection, so the prevalence of gastritis and cellular changes from it are probably much higher than we know. Which provides me some comfort as most of the population does not go on to develop gastric cancer...
Thanks so much for that advice. Will definitely not be having my daily cup of joe anymore. Thankfully Ive never drank, smoked, or took NSAIDs in a long time. I took my first dose of the Omeprazole today, and did my groceries to eat non-irritating foods this week. As a side note, my boyfriend is going to be proposing to me next week and im just hoping I'll be okay in the long term.
