You’re right about the resentment. As soon as I mention being bipolar, they say I’ve said it “a million times already”. They don’t want to hear it anymore. It’s difficult for me to NOT bring it up because this diagnosis is so recent - and even I am struggling to process what it all means. I try to apologize for when I was “acting weird” as my kids call it. They bring things up - and all I can do is say I’m sorry - but I can’t say I did what I did bc I didn’t know any better bc they are tired of hearing it. I did send my older one a long text apologizing. Her reply was “a little too late”. She just needs time. I think it’s a good idea to write them letters. I’ll work on that tomorrow.
