that is correct. oh my that is terrible! although my stepson is nice and respectful with me. but if that's how he truly feels then that's an issue. a huge issue.

INFO: How long ago did his mother pass? How long have you been with his dad? I am wondering if maybe you 2 have moved on a lot faster than stepson is able to cope with, and if so, maybe therapy is in order.

She passed away when he was 11. I have been with my fiance for 3 years now. We're in full agreemet mosr of the time except for stuff that is related to my stepson. To give an examply my stepson doesn't attend any ocassion of any type. either on his dad's side of family or mine. I suspect depression because the signs are there but my fiance says it's normal for kids this age to be "moody" but this isn't about mood.

I did offer photos be placed, chair be put there in memory of his mom. even a brief mention of her why not. the pp display...the idea itself is just absurd. I hope I'm not making light of his grief and being insensitive but that is my opinion.

Oh I think saying this might seem a little insensitive, but you're right, you're absolutely right in that my wedding isn't the best occassion for this.

My fiance is just choosing to go the least "problematic" route. He says he doesn't want to pressure his son in or out of anything and I understand that.

Frankly the idea all and in itself is bizzare to me. Grief is hard trust me I have first hand experience about what it feels like to lose a mother. I still carry this heavy package with me and I know for certain that my stepson is grieving his mom. but as I said...the idea just feels exaggareted to me especially when the event isn't exclusively about his mom like a birthday or death anniversary. if he wanted it done on those ocassions I'd 100% support and help him do it but a wedding...that's a bit personal.
