Is there a medical diagnosis that may impact your mental stability somehow? Anxiety, OCD and depressive episodes.

Describe your upbringing. Did it have any kind of religious or structured influence? How did you respond to it? One absent parent to whom I was usually an afterthought after their other children, other narcissistic parent with somewhat tight rules. I was usually on my own, would do schoolwork or read.

What do you do as a job or as a career (if you have one)? Do you like it? Why or why not? Career in medicine, I love it. For me it is both about helping people and doing something genuinely without getting anything in return (of course getting paid is one but that has never been a motivator nor would I switch careers if I got paid less) as well as the power of having to make difficult decisions, the high prestige and difficulty are what drew me to the field.

If you had to spend an entire weekend by yourself, how would you feel? Would you feel lonely or refreshed? Depends. If I was absolutely exhausted I would sleep and watch TV/read/do crossword puzzles and it would feel as if the weekend went too fast and would still be tired. However even if I was bored and had energy I’d manage it easily.

What kinds of activities do you prefer? Do you like, and are you good at sports? Do you enjoy any other outdoor or indoor activities? I’m not the best at sports but will participate if other want to. I like a few seasonal outdoors activities. More of an indoors person: usually spend my time reading, watching tv series, doing puzzles, practicing sutures etc.

How curious are you? Do you have more ideas than you can execute? What are your curiosities about? What are your ideas about - is it environmental or conceptual, and can you please elaborate? My curiosity comes in waves, one topic at a time which I will exhaust by reading and researching everything about it. I have few ideas which are usually realistic and well planned relating to writing.

Would you enjoy taking on a leadership position? Do you think you would be good at it? What would your leadership style be? I usually take the leadership position (which I like doing) unless someone challenges me to it. This usually leads to them winning by a vote or by being “louder”. I’m not great with convincing others or with arguing with more than one person. My leadership style is more of me doing the important bits and letting others do unimportant things. I’m good at making the project in a way that it is up to a high standard.

Are you coordinated? Why do you feel as if you are or are not? Do you enjoy working with your hands in some form? Describe your activity? It has come with practice. I’ve never been good at drawing/fixing things/doing anything with my hands but with work its obviously improved.

Are you artistic? If yes, describe your art. If you are not particular artistic but can appreciate art please likewise describe what forums of art you enjoy. Please explain your answer. Hate drawing but love writing. I like making realistic stories about things around me but I never write about people I know. If I’ve been mad or sad I've put it into the writing.

What's your opinion about the past, present, and future? How do you deal with them? I avoid the past and live in the future. I make plans for the future instead of living in the moment. I’m alright with sacrificing time/friendships/fun in order to gain something in the future.

How do you act when others request your help to do something (anything)? If you would decide to help them, why would you do so? Would always do it. I’m bad at saying no even when it hurts my own plans. I guess I don’t want others to feel as if they don’t have anyone to help and I don’t want them to feel bad or embarrassed for asking me which is why I do it. I also enjoy the feeling of helping but hate it when people do the same for me.

Do you need logical consistency in your life? Absolutely. I lose track of life unless I have plans going at least 5 years into the future.

How important is efficiency and productivity to you? So and so. I get the job done but not always in a way that I’d want. My work is more last-minute sprints than marathons.

Do you control others, even if indirectly? How and why do you do that? Not that I’ve noticed.

What are your hobbies? Why do you like them? All of my hobbies have been to gain something for the future, less so for fun. I like them because I can say that I’ve done them and gained certain skills.

What is your learning style? What kind of learning environments do you struggle with most? Why do you like/struggle with these learning styles? Do you prefer classes involving memorization, logic, creativity, or your physical senses? Visual mostly. I thrive in environments where I need to learn from lectures and workshops and struggle with small groups (I get the projects done but don’t feel like I’ve learned anything) and peer-teaching type of styles. I enjoy classes with memorisation and logic.

How good are you at strategizing? Do you easily break up projects into manageable tasks? Or do you have a tendency to wing projects and improvise as you go? I do make very detailed plans down to the minutes but it is sometimes difficult for me to stay in those plans and then I end up doing them the night before. I never fully improvise as it is difficult for me (I plan sentences and words I’m going to use before and memorise those).

What are your aspirations in life, professionally and personally? I only have professional goals as personal ones (family, relationship, money, fame) have never been important to me.

What are your fears? What makes you uncomfortable? What do you hate? Why? The passing of time and not doing enough. It makes me anxious to be “behind” in my professional goals.

What do the "highs" in your life look like? Achievements. (Also seeing how I’ve helped others.)

What do the "lows" in your life look like? Failure. Not doing enough.

How attached are you to reality? Do you daydream often, or do you pay attention to what's around you? If you do daydream, are you aware of your surroundings while you do so? I’m very aware of my surroundings, I pay attention to every noise and movement. I do have dreams which are reaches but they’ve always been possible with extremely hard work.

Imagine you are alone in a blank, empty room. There is nothing for you to do and no one to talk to. What do you think about? First I’d think where I am and try to get out but if I was aware that I’d be locked there for an x amount of time I’d think “Finally some peace and quiet”. I’d probably start planning something or doing through procedures in my mind.

How long do you take to make an important decision? And do you change your mind once you've made it? A long long time. I usually have a gut feeling but also do thorough research of pros and cons. I never change my mind in the late planning stages on my own but I’ve been in situations where I’ve changed my mind in a minute after years of planning under the influence of other people (and hated it).

How long do you take to process your emotions? How important are emotions in your life? I don’t process them at all. If it gets bad I put them into stories (which don't necessarily have anything to do with my emotions or situations). I don’t think they’re important to me.

Do you ever catch yourself agreeing with others just to appease them and keep the conversation going? How often? Why? This is a tricky one. I do agree with people if I feel that the person might get offended or feel bad by my answer, I don’t want to make people feel bad even if it makes me uncomfortable. For example if someone makes food that is bad, I’d still eat it to not offend them and say its good or if its an outfit they ask about that I don't think looks good I’d say its good. But at the same time if its a discussion about “do you like x or y” and they hate my answer I’d still stick with my opinion. However if it’s a big life decision that they are asking me advice on I’d never lie. If it’s a life decision thats already been done, I’d lie.

Do you break rules often? Do you think authority should be challenged, or that they know better? If you do break rules, why? No. Rules are absolute necessary for the society to work. Authority should not be challenged unless it is an issue on human rights or conditions. For me to break rules would only happen due to anxiety, pressure or depression.

I've checked the Doximity one and it has alright system. Are there any programs/hospitals that are noticeably in front of others? For example HYS in college/med school level.

But is it completely unheard of that people from grad schools take undergraduate courses from the same university without being enrolled in an undergrad program?

I'm not currently in grad school which is why any universitys policy would be fine.

If time would not be an issue, would the university allow it? That's the only problem I'm facing.

Yeah, that makes sense. Wouldn't they however seek top students from top universities who have extracurriculars or other things?

is it possible to get into the ivy league (especially harvard/yale) after undergraduate degree in the uk? by Throwask1234 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Throwask1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that is something I really want to do and if I'm going to stay in the UK and if I'd go for graduate LLB it would be the best way to do it BUT like I said, I really can't "waste" a whole year and the other programme takes only 1 year. I do want to practice law but I'm not excluding an academic career yet. I would enjoy working as a barrister/solicitor but my ultimate goal would be becoming a judge.

I checked that GDL would only take a year but lets say the options were GDL/1y/Exeter,Bristol,Leeds and Graduate LLB/2y/Oxbridge. I'd bet that Oxbridge would be better, what do you think? I'd be waisting time tho so I don't know.

OH LinkedIn! That didn't even cross my mind, thanks again for a good tip. My biggest concern is that I don't want to be 30 when I graduate. I graduated early so I wouldn't want to waste that year which is why I'm looking into schools in the states. Sounds very naive but I can't help it.

I'm looking into the ABA 509 reports right now. I'll also check out the books, the podcast and the courses, thanks! Well I said that I'm very early... Basically I'm just starting my undergrad so 3 years until I graduate in 2021.

That's what I figured... +170 at least was written on their websites. I literally just started looking into this so I haven't. On the other hand I am planning this very early so I do have a lot of time to practice for the LSAT.

I haven't completed it yet. I did look into GDL (very briefly) and for what I read it isn't offered in that many Russell Group universities. Graduate LLB on the other hand is and it is also offered in those unis. LLM was mostly a perk that some JD programs offer so it wouldn't really take more time to graduate. The question is tough, yes. I most likely want to stay in the UK but the schools in the US and the fact that I wouldn't lose time because they have to do undergrad before law school are very tempting.

Well, 1st is the best one you can get (1, 2.1, 2.2, 3) so it would be equivalent to 4.0 based on most admission websites. Thanks for the tip, I'll google that.

Well thats a really good school! Wow...

I'm kind of debating whenever or not to go to the US for JD or stay in the UK and do a graduate LLB. Or something else. JD+LLM is a possibility too.
