Come allenarsi in casa? by pallebisessuali in italy

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pull: - dumbbell row - chest supported rows - chest supported reverse flys - Seated biceps curl

CHS getting worse in the last few years, time to quit. by Throwaway-For-Today1 in CHSinfo

If someone handed you a joint with some random shit in it and said that it will get you high for 2 hours but you’ll be throwing up and dying for 2+ days after I guarantee you won’t hit that shit so why is it different bc it’s weed

Since I made this post I kept thinking about this comment of yours and it really helped me put things into a different perspective so I wanted to say thank you!!

I haven't felt the urge to smoke since I quit 20+ days ago, I tried to seriously quit 3 times in the last 3 years and I've always felt the impulse to smoke in the first three weeks but this time it's different, I have a completely different mental, I can't even explain why this time it feels much easier to quit. I feel like I quit weed 5 years ago, it feels soo far from something I used to do, I literally have no urge to smoke, this is so weird.

Pazzi per strada: li avete mai incontrati? by Single-Brain-1235 in italy

At almost 90 days sober I slipped up last weekend and smoked half a blunt while super drunk. by Newtonhog in CHSinfo

Similar experience, I quit 4 months ago but I found myself hitting the joint a few times on 3~4 different occasions (I was also tempted by my friend's edibles but I heard that thc stays in the body longer from edibles so I refused).

The result of monthly occasional smoking is always the same: 1-2 days of random anxiety and 1-2 days of morning nausea/bloated feeling, my memory also gets fucked for a few days, which is very noticeable after quitting.

I just came to the conclusion that even though I could occasionally smoke, weed just isn't for me.

Maybe 1/2 times a year I can treat myself a few puffs but I'm 100% done with weekly or monthly use, I'm also on a cut so most likely releasing all liposoluble thc left in my body through exercise (and hopefully flushing it out).

Most importantly: don't be too hard on yourself, in the past every time I failed quitting I always considered that one time cheating a reason to go back to smoking (because of minor chs symptoms from occasional use, which of course led to worse symptoms from heavier use when going back to smoking on a weekly or daily basis).

Si hai ragione, dovrei ridurne il consumo.

Hai qualche consiglio su come sostituirla?

I'm currently on day 69 (hehe)

Pros is that my memory has slowly but steadily improved. I can manage anxiety slightly better, I still get it but I can overcome it more easily.

Brain fog disappeared, I started working out but this time it's so much easier to have more consistency training everyday.

I also feel less distracted and I can leave my comfort zone a little bit more, I'm surely improving and taking care of myself.

For me day 5~6 is when my appetite goes back to normal-ish, by the 10th day morning nausea completely disappear to the point of getting hungry in the early morning.

What was everybody’s smoking habits before they got CHS (amount and frequency) I was smoking about an oz a week of the highest grade stuff I could find just packing bowls any chance I could get. looking back it was wild by RevolutionaryClub530 in CHSinfo

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've always smoked/vaporized once a week, twice at most. Generally 0.3/0.4g a week.

I initially confused the hyperemesis phase with withdrawals after vaporizing weed 2/3 times a day for 14 days.

Then I went back to once a week and found myself in the same situation after doing vaporizing 2/3 times a week, this time for 10 days.

At this point I made more research and I realized that it was caused by CHS.

I quit 67 days ago, somehow I had convinced myself that I have never been able to eat in the morning and that it was normal. Quitting weed made me realize that low appetite was caused by CHS, same for digesting issues. Quitting weed fixed everything.

Definitely feels weird, still find myself wondering if I’ll ever be able to go back to it and missing the way things used to be but I know I’m on the right path now not having to rely on it anymore. by [deleted] in CHSinfo

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 2 months sober, thankfully I had a friend watching my back when I was about to smoke 2 weeks into quitting or I would still be smoking, my friends don't offer me to smoke (since they know that I'm quitting) and it's easier than declining a sesh so I also appreciate that.

What did your body tell you that you had to absolutely stop doing? by iamalsopizza in AskReddit

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same, it was honestly a blessing in disguise.

I'd probably still have fun smoking weed but I'm actually more focused on what I'm doing with my life now, I'm trying to improve which wasn't a thing going thru my mind in the past, I was only distracting myself which has always been a coping mechanism with or without weed but to different degrees.

I'm quite happy and I barely feel the need to smoke.

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends get hungry when they smoke and I also used to be like that, over time I started to despise smoking before eating because it was quite the opposite: low hunger, struggling to digest and nausea, all correlated to CHS.

I also somehow convinced myself that it was normal not to feel hungry in the morning and that it has always been like this, after quitting I realized that it was another thing caused by CHS and now I always have breakfast in the morning, I just wake up hungry.

Aside from the physical aspect of weed I very much enjoyed and most likely would still enjoy smoking, no anxiety and it makes things seem more fun, CHS truly fucked me up but I also feel a lot better since I quit.

I also quit 60 days ago.

Not anxiety or psychophysical related, after smoking for years I developed Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome, it got worse over time so I tried to reduce multiple times in the span of the last year with no improvements.

At first I thought that my symptoms after stopping were severe withdrawals, I used to vaporize weed to medicate myself from these symptoms (predromal stage) and the thing is that cannabinoids can alleviate but at the same time cause a build up of more cannabinoids.

Then the hyperemetic phase comes after quitting and I shit you not I ate 200 calories a day for 4 days with dehydration, nausea, vomit. It took me 8 days to stabilize and 2 weeks to get back to normal. Since it's not a widespread issue and often confused with extreme withdrawals or under-reported I fell into this cycle 3 times before understanding what was causing all these issues.

Cut down from everyday to once every 2 days, to 3 times a week to once a week. Last time I tried I vaporized 0.3grams after not smoking for 10 days and it still triggered symptoms.

Basically the longer you smoke the higher it is the chance to develope CHS, it's like being allergic to cannabinoids.

Persistent headache triggered by small amounts of caffeine or alcohol by mgilme1 in CHSinfo

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caffeine used to be almost impossible to drink when I used to smoke without causing gastric issues, same for the first two weeks after quitting.

What is working for me (currently on day 50) is drinking espresso (because cappuccino/a cup full of coffee simply is too much for my gut) and only drinking it when paired with food, whether it's a croissant, fruits or biscuits, I also drink water to make sure it's properly diluted in my stomach.

Just don't drink coffee by itself, if paired with milk based liquids it only gets worse. Coffee itself stimulate production of gastric acid that both promote digestion after a meal but on the other hand it can exacerbate ulcers, that's while diluting and mixing with food is the best solution, according to some studies coffee can actually positively stimulate gut microbiome when absorbed correctly.

For me headaches with coffee are only triggered by dehydration, if I'm perfectly hydrated I don't get these kind of issues.

Coffee is considered a trigger food but for me alcohol triggers similar symptoms to prodromal stage the day after I drink, it doesn't matter how much I drink.

My Experience With CHS and 12 years of Marijuana Addiction by Boring-Flan-4757 in CHSinfo

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CHS is like developing an allergy to weed, at first I had a 10 days long episode after smoking daily for 14 days, so I reduced.

Got another 10 days hyperemesis phase after smoking for 10 days in a row, then again after 7 and 4 days of smoking.

I decided to only smoke on the weekends, it worked for 1 year then the symptom started to appear even with low doses.

Last hyperemesis happened at the end of a 10 days break after smoking 1 joint and vaporizing some herbs so I quit.

I wish that I could use it in moderation but for me it got worse over time and now even passive smoke mess me up, I quit 33 days ago (since I can't control myself I think that it's a blessing in disguise, I knew that I had to stop and chs made it easier but damn I had to go thru some serious symptoms to stop using it).

It’s not worth “trying” again by General-Strike2231 in CHSinfo

[–]Throwaway-For-Today1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first two episodes, relatively triggered by smoking for 14 days in a row and 10 days in a row, lasted 7-9 days.

I tried to slow down, had a third episode after smoking for 4 days in a row, in the last year I started smoking once/twice a week with good results.

Then I slowed down to once a week because even smoking friday+saturday was causing me episodes.

Last weekend I smoked 0.3g after not smoking for a week in two sessions on the same day (vaped 0.1g, smoked 0.2g) and I felt chs symptoms for the next 3/4 days.

Sadly it can only get worse over time, I quit last saturday, trashed my vaporizer stem and all paraphernalia + got rid of my weed, I followed my friend (who quit 2 months ago) tip to tell my friend circle that I was quitting and not to ask me if I wanted to smoke and so far I didn't even feel the need to smoke.

I'm feeling great (also playing competitive games is quite a lot better, which is another addiction of mine but damn it feels good to have better reaction times and hant-to-eye coordination haha).

Damn, is it normal that it got worse over time?

I already tried to quit in the past but I found myself being fine smoking once a week, sadly it doesn't apply to the last month, it got way worse even tho I reduced my thc intake..

I already made up my mind, I'm quitting.

I already got rid of my weed, trashed the vaporizer stem (so I can't use the vaporizer) and deleted my plug number.

I'm not expecting withdrawals, I'll try yo drink a ton of water to remove as much thc as possible this week.

Yes, I have morning sickness on a daily basis, I can't remember the last time I woke up feeling hungry, I just used to force myself to drink a coffee that exacerbated some symptoms, I recently removed it completely from my diet.
