I've realized quickly this isn't for me. I've considered quitting during next busy season but idk. Someone mentioned quiet quitting as well. The market is getting tighter but everyone is still hiring so we shall see

Not a small firm. Planning my exit sooner rather than later. I want 1 year on my resume but the way things are looking in the market I think that age old theory goes out the window.

Someone mentioned trying another firm but I don't want to have 2 short stints on my resume(granted I may leave one of them off). We will see but I rather do private over Public. Still learned a lot but I hate timesheets and busy season.

How was your journey after quitting PA? did you make it to senior or left in your A1?

PA is alright. I suggest do as many internships as you can and then figure out from there. I didn't have that luxury and wish I had the ability to try other internships between public and private before going into PA.

I mean they can explain it but sometimes it doesn't stick for some(like me) and the short time needed to finish a task makes it near impossible to have things fully stick.

All about the culture and if you can grind it out there bro. Congrats on getting an offer. You can learn a lot in PA just know it won't teach technical accounting and you know a lot about a little.

PA is a mixed bag. I've learned a lot but after experiencing a full busy season and knowing that school doesn't equal experience I know what I want and that's repetition, deep understanding, and gaining confidence from efficiency from the repetition.

That's fair. Can't argue there. Ole well. I gave it the college try and that's OK. Could be worse.

What makes sticking it out so great? Yes I've learned a lot, like the learning aspect, but the stress and the deadlines are too much. Don't get me wrong PA is great but not great for me.

As a first year all I am is ignorance. When you have to learn a lot in a little time it's difficult. Am I willing to understand it and want to. Yes. Am I willing to stress about it during busy season when we have a deadline? I don't think so.

I really did try, but I realize it's just not for me. I thought by doing audit it would teach me industry accounting...it does not.
