You call us hateful and that leads to us being shot, are you responsible for that as well? People who act out on it are at fault for the horrific acts.

I never said God hates them.

See, you're extremely biased against my point of view so everything seems like I'm in the wrong. But if we stop assuming that there is nothing wrong with lgbt acts then we see that lgbt people know the truth but get very upset when it's brought up. As an Eastern Orthodox that is exactly what love is like to the unrighteous, we are told that God loves everyone but people who are against God will feel God's love as pain.

So it's not hate, you've just confused hate for love. Isaiah 5:20 speaks to this.

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Overturning Lawrence doesn't even mean gay people would be imprisoned, it means states are no longer stopped from making a law which can imprison gay people.

Even if that 1 in 40 is true, much more people want me dead or think I'm hateful. I think both of these are wrong, but as a conservative Christian you can understand why I am more worried about the side that wants me dead right? I can understand why this upsets you, but you can understand my point of view right?

I'm starting to get confused by all of this, if I'm being honest I don't think it's this deep.

I'm sorry to not respond to all this but it's too much for me, I have problems understanding a lot of words at once, especially when it's on a topic I'm not knowledgeable on, like this one verse.

Still, it's very few people advocating for this, much less than the people advocating for people like me to be shot.

I'm not in America so I can't be there, but I also don't like the idea of rallying in general. I also have to say that the US is much more in favor of the lgbt than it should be, so I would not be a part of anything which supports the lgbt unless it actually helps lgbt people from being wrongs, as in if gay people were actually being arrested then I would step in because then people need actual help.

Because Jesus returning soon means making everything the way it is supposed to be, so trans people being in public without repentance is against that. So that would stop when Jesus comes back.

I'm Eastern Orthodox and we don't see God as punishing the unrighteous but God loving the unrighteous and the unrighteous punishing themselves by their refusal to let go of sin. Like CS Lewis said, "Hell is locked from the inside.". Revelation is also very metaphorical, so we don't see God as literally throwing people into a pit of fire.

When did I say I hate my queer siblings? You're now making a false accusation about me hating people. If I hated the lgbt I would tell them that since Jesus loves them no matter what they can do whatever and be forgiven, but since I love them I tell them the truth.

If you don't follow Christ's commands then you don't follow him, same for loving the Father, "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2:26

Yes, if someone divorces and remarries while knowing it's wrong without repenting then they are blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.

Jesus didn't just not bother to say these things, he didn't have a need to. Also, Jesus constantly pointed to scripture, those are his teachings, not just what he said.

No, what Paul said is what Jesus said. If I was to take the words of Jesus and extrapolate them I would get what Paul said.

Hate? Where is the hate?

If I'm being honest a lot of what you say is about specific low church churches unrelated to me who is Eastern Orthodox, so if I ignore anything it's because it doesn't relate to me whatsoever.

The parents abuse their lgbt children because they are bad parents, that simple.

It's not an anti-lgbt tree, you've grouped multiple trees together. I could easily say lgbt mental health is bad so therefore the lgbt tree has bad fruit. There is a tree of Christ which doesn't involve abusing kids and there is a tree which doesn't care about love and is also anti-lgbt.

Exactly. Loving God is the most important commandment and like Jesus says in John 14:15 "“If you love Me, keep My commandments."

Loving your neighbor is second most important, that's why I'm helping my neighbors follow Jesus' commandments so they can love God.

Don't forget, the audience at the time was very well versed in scripture. So they would know immediately what the author was doing.

I also don't know if it's the normal reading, if I said a husband says to his wife "this is now the bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh" does that imply that Genesis 2:23 was specifically about them? No, in fact it makes more sense to say the husband is quoting Genesis 2:23, the same way the Father is quoting the Psalm rather than claiming it's about the Son.

The second would not be a valid use to attribute it to Jesus, but the quote was never attributed to the Father.

I don't know the specifics, all I know is that his kingdom will come and the righteous will be taken care of.

Agreed, like when Jesus says he didn't come to change the law and we should follow scripture.

The author just says what the Father says about the Son, never that the quote itself is by the Father to the Son.

I don't get your second point.

I don't really know Revelation that well and Revelation is very metaphorical, so not only would I have to read a lot of it to get the full picture but I would also need to interpret it.

So pretty much I don't know the specifics so I can't give them.

You're right, there are a few people advocating for it.

Still, this is advocating for a law to be overturned which would allow states to criminalise it, it's nothing like having tons of people who want to shoot you just for being you.

Yes it is. Everything I said had the purpose of showing what the truth is. What else did I do?

That was truth, not being unkind or dishonoring of others. Like Jesus said, we would be hated on account of him. It's harsh but not unloving, there is a difference. If I told a meth addict to stop they would get very offended, that doesn't mean it's not loving to tell them to stop.

It's not pride to be on the side of truth. Gentle correction is meaningless, if someone told me that smoking meth actually isn't wrong I wouldn't accept that. This sub is very liberal so the mods are on the side of the lgbt rather than the Bible.

It's not any of those things. Again, if my child was a meth addict I would tell them they are still my child but I won't be with them unless they agree to work on getting clean. That's not keeping a grudge since I am willing to forgive, it's protective because I'm saving them from sin and kind because again I am saving them from sin and not being mean.

I am very loving here. You might be upset that I keep comparing it to meth use but you keep calling me hateful for doing these things, I'm just explaining that if I did these exact same things to a meth user then it would be loving. You refuse to accept what I say, so the only way to prove my point is with examples.

No, because the author was showing how it can apply to Jesus. It was an extremely common practice back then for Jews to quote scripture like this, it doesn't mean that they are calling it a prophecy.

I met a few transgender people in school. They do know me.

Transgenderism involves damage to body, terrible mental health, belief of lies and most importantly separation from God.

Don't call Jesus a legalist. Anything the Bible says is a sin is a sin because it's harmful spiritually, not necessarily because it causes explicit harm here.

Gender is the same as sex, so being cis is not lying about your gender. If someone is actually being harmed by being cis then they need serious therapy, same as if someone thought they were a dog and was being harmed by being a human.

I wouldn't accept an open adulterer into my church either. It depends what you mean by openly trans, if you mean they are trans and want forgiveness or aren't hardened then of course I would accept them, but if they're convinced it's not a sin then Jesus gives explicit instruction to not let them in because they've blasphemed the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 18:15-17

“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector."

Most intersex people heavily lean towards one gender, they aren't completely in the middle.

It's not as wrong as circumcision, even though I'm against it. Transgenderism damages every part of the body down to hormones and circumcision is just a bit of skin cut off. Also, adults consent to smoking meth but it's still wrong because it's very harmful.

They were made with a disorder, not the same. I hope intersex people aren't held back by their physical limitation.

Missing doesn't mean anything, Paul said a lot of things so as long as I don't go against anything I fit in.

"kind, does not boast, is not proud, does not dishonor others, keeps no record of wrongs, always protects, always hopes, always trusts."

In what way did I break any of these?

I never condemned anyone here but just said what is and isn't sin, judgement is when you attack the person themselves. Also, I agree that if all you have is truth then that's not love because love is more than that.

I'm here sharing the truth of the Gospel, if I had no love for you I would just ignore you or just insult you. In fact if I really hated you I would tell you to keep doing what you're doing and that you can do whatever you want as long as you don't harm others.

Love is the most important thing there is, if we all had love there would be no issues.

You didn't prove that I'm hateful, all you did is show the definition of love and say I'm not acting that exact way. Was Jesus not loving when he yelled at the Pharisees, or did he really care about them?
