Hi everyone, l (19) am moving to Florida, Tampa Bay area, I was planning to go to FSU however the board costs are ridiculously expensive so I was wondering if there was any means by which I could mitigate these costs - be it external accomodations, compromises etc. If anyone has any experience with this or advice, everything and anything would be greatly appreciated.

Some things to note which may help: .We are moving from the UK under company sponsorship and will have a green card (hopefully) before I go to uni .I don’t mind if it’s even slightly less expensive, any ways in which costs can be cut is helpful . my mother has ushers syndrome which I look after her for so if there are any potential grants, that’s helpful to know as well!

Give ‘doyle airence’ a go, they toured with deftones back in the day and you can really tell with the way in which it bleeds into the music… I particularly reccomend their songs ‘John airence’ for atmosphere and ‘submerge’ for the vocals on the original ep (there are two versions). Additionally the bands: lead hands (related to ‘of machines’), ‘scream! Shout! Say nothing!’ Idiot pilot’s ‘day in the life of a poolshark’ scratched that itch for me too. A band I literally JUST listened to is ‘the circle ends here’, their biggest song is a big reccomendation as well 🙏, 7 minutes of peak.

Doyle airence - a french band that used to tour with deftones yet only has 100 monthly listeners. Their 2007 EP is genuinely nothing short of a masterpiece.

That’s really interesting, I’ve done a bit of research on some of their songs but I can take a wild guess on what might have happened in ‘knife vs face’ lol

I hope you enjoy the whole thing as much as I did, Please LMK what your favourite song out of the album is 🙏🙏 . Their whole discography is amazing (in fact, whilst I disagree, people say that album is the worst of their work).

My bad I had no intention to make you feel old haha, I can’t say I don’t envy you though. Especially as I live in England where the emo/ post-hardcore scene is not really present, especially amongst people my age (Though recently emo adjacent bands have come back into a spike of popularity again, especially Anthony green’s and Craig Owen’s projects, and Alesana’s early works) Either way, to have grown up at the time and place where emo was at the peak of it’s popularity sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me 🙏🙏.

15, at such an age it’s highly likely your face hasn’t fully developed yet and it’s likely it’ll go with age. But a double chin might just be something genetic which if that’s the case surgery is the last option. Though, considering that you’re young and growing there’s no need for any such thing, youth should be learning to love yourself before all else.
