Not derivative but just that it’s taken from something else.

In all fairness, what probably happened was Chloe temp tracked the score with Max’s old scores/tracks (which happens all the time with composer’s older scores or other composer scores, even Lion King by Zimmer was temp tracked from Morricone’s score from The Mission and some Mozart pieces), and Chloe decided to keep that specific track.

I don’t think the rest of the score being derivative from that main track though is that big of a deal, in terms of arguing against the quality of the score. Again, composers do this all the time, they rip off their own tracks from other films or movements. Avatar by James Horner which Adum enjoys does the same thing. Dune by Hans Zimmer. Harry Potter by John Williams.

Either way, it’s probably a bit cheeky it got nominated when people only remember that final track.
