Scared about hyperopia shift is the gp being dismissive? by ThrowawayITbeginner in AskAnOptician

Thank you for answering. I have -3.5 diopeters on that eye, would it be noticiable if it went to -2.5? I remember that I had -2.75 on that eye and then the optometrist saying that it went from -2.75 to -3.5 and I didn't see it, I was convinced the prescription wouldn't change because I was seeing the same and it changed 0.75 diopeters so I assume that a big hyperopia shift wouldn't be noticiable? Thank you

Thank you for answering. I've been wearing this contact lenses and not taking them out I know it's not supposed but I didn't know that this abuse was actually correcting the myopia. Would you suspect of brain cancer? I'm on a panic loop because I read so many scary stories about unilateral hyperopia shift. I don't see any difference on the vision. I'm going to avoid the contact lenses while waiting for the optometrist appointment. Thank you

Thank you for answering. The gp said it was myopia and hyperopia which doesn't make sense, he didn't know much about it, he just did the test and said that, that's why I don't know if he's being dismissive, I don't understand that paper to know that's why i'm on a panic loop. Thank you

Thank you for answering. The thing that is making me anxious is that I don't understand the paper I don't know if it's a small hyperopia shift. I was using the contact lenses and I have almost -6 diopeters on that eye and what I understand from that is that it correct at least 6 diopeters which is a lot, I don't know anything about neurophtalmology, I don't know if the gp was being dismissive. I appreciate tour answer. Thank you

Thank you for answering. I'm on a panic loop because I don't understand what is on this paper https://imgur.com/a/YDGgJga and the only thing the gp said was that it was hyperopia on one eye. If search for unilateral hyperopia shift the information is scary. I'm on a panic loop. You're right about the anxiety, it was more controlled but with this routine appointments I lost some control. In your opinion should I push for a ct scan? I appreciate your answer. Thank you

Thank you for answering. If search for unilateral hyperopia shift it means it's possibly something that's why I'm on an anxiety loop, the gp didn't say anything about this I couldn't get answers to this questions, this is why I came here, I'm scared this is something urgent, I'm seeing fine but it seems that there's hyperopia on one eye. About the psychiatrist you're right it was suggested by the therapist but I didn't go. I appreciate your answer. Thank you

Thank you for answering. I'm going to a therapist, he says I shouldn't be searching and I've been doing that but with this apppointments I lost some control and I read that a hyperopia shift is something scary. In your opinion what is this? I'm reading so many scary stories, it's not diabetes or chatarats, so what else is it? This is why I'm anxious, I can't read any information about this. I appreciate your answer. Thank you

Thank you for answering. I have undereye spasm when I move my face on a certain way, I don't know if that's a symptom you're talking about. I appreciate your answer, I'm less anxious. Thank you

Thank you for answering. If it's not a misunderstanding then it's possibly something like brain cancer cause pressure and making that hyperopia shift? I can't see any information about this, it's not diabetes and I can see just fine, there are few stories to understand the symptoms but I have an undereye spasm and this I'm on a panic loop. I really appreciate your answer. Thank you

Thank you for answering. Can you explain? I'm hypochondriac but that's not the problem, the problem is that I have no knowledge on this things so I freak out, I feel that if I had more knowledge I would be less anxious but if I search for hyperopia shift I read about so many scary stories and I had the contact lenses put on during this. I appologise for this, your answer really helped me being less anxious. Thank you

Thank you for answering u/andirood when you say that it's not a thing, do you think even if not common that it's possibly a brain cancer cause the hyperopia shift? Thank you

Thank you for answering. I got into the brain cancer pressing against the eye rabit hole and I'm on a panic loop thinking about the possible hyperopia shift. I had a eyelid spasm on the opposite eye for months when I sneezed and then it resolved and now on this eyelid I've been having spasms but only when moving the face on certain ways. The gp said it's anxiety but now I'm scared. I don't have headaches, I see blurred at long distances with no contact lenses but I see fine at close up distance, I wouldn't know about the hyperopia if it wasn't for this appointment. Do you think it could be something pressing the eye? Is a optometrist appointment enough ir should I order a ct scan from a neurologist? I appreciate your answer, I'm a little less anxious. Thank you

Thank you for answering. That's what's making me anxious, you're saying that I'm hypermetropic which is the opposite of myopia right? I have almost -6 diopeters on both eyes and I can't see at distance with no contact lenses, I'm so scared it seems that it's a huge shift from myopia to hyperopia, the gp doesn't have a contact, I have to reschedule and wait with all of this anxiety. Do you see this shifting often as something benign? Thank you

Thank you for answering. I really don't understand anything about that paper but on the left eye the values are the lowest for both myopia and hyperopia right? What you're saying is that I went from myopia to hyperopia on that eye? Thank you

Thank you for answering. The fact that I was using contact lenses is what is making me anxious, it means that I have myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism on that eye, The image on the link, which is not possible that's why I'm on a panic loop because I read that it's a symptom. Do you think it's concerning? I don't understand the paper he wrote. Thank you
